I refuse to read Barack Obama's books! When I go to store I can't even stand to look at them sitting on the shelves. I am constantly turning the covers around or putting another book in front of them because if I can prevent even one person from purchasing them it makes me happy.
But I did have a friend who sent me some quotes that he pulled from Audacity of Hope and Dreams of My Father (which he rented from the library!) And while I know we can't change whose in the White House we should constantly remember the core beliefs of the man that we put there. Probably the scariest of them all, From Audacity of Hope:
"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
From Dreams of My Father:
"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

The principal of a New Jersey elementary school where young students were videotaped singing the praises of President Obama is making no apologies for the videotape and says she would allow the performance again if she could, according to parents who spoke with her Thursday night.
Three parents told FOXNews.com that Dr. Denise King, principal of B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., defended the controversial performance, which was videotaped and posted on YouTube, when they approached her during a "Back to School" event.
Parent Jim Angelillo said King told him the lesson was merely part of Black History month, and not an attempt to indoctrinate students, as critics have charged. He said he believes teachers have the freedom to express their political views, but not in the classroom.
"Freedom of speech, not freedom to teach," Angelillo told FOXNews.com.
King has long been a fan of Obama, hanging pictures of the president in her school's hallways and touting her trip to his inauguration in the school yearbook.
Included in the full-page yearbook spread were Obama campaign slogans ("Yes we can! Yes we did!") and photos King took in Washington on Jan. 20, when she attended the inauguration.
There also were photos taken at the school depicting students doing Obama-themed activities about their "hopes for the future," featuring posters of Obama. According to the yearbook, students watched the inauguration in class.
Parents said Elvira James, the teacher of the class that was videotaped, also seemed to be promoting Obama.
"She praised him, she put pictures on the walls," said Jim Pronchick, whose 8-year-old son, Jimmy, was in James' class last year. "When he won (the election) they really went off."
Leslie Gibson, who has two children at the school, said she was "shocked" at the videotape, adding that political beliefs, like religious views, should be kept at home. She also said King made a "big deal" about her attendance at the inauguration.
"Throughout the school, there were signs posted supporting Barack Obama quite a bit," Gibson told FOXNews.com. "I understand it's a historical event, but on the same token, I like politics to be left at home and I think she should follow that as well."
Attempts to reach King on Friday were unsuccessful. A recording at the school said its mailbox was full and could not accept new messages.
A search of public records revealed that King, 46, of Cinnaminson, N.J., last voted in 2004 and had not declared any political affiliation. No records of political contributions could be found.
In November, the 9,700-plus residents of Burlington, N.J., a Philadelphia suburb, voted overwhelming for Obama, who received 3,285 votes to Sen. John McCain's 1,308.
The controversy over the YouTube video extended into northwest Arkansas on Friday, as officials at the Bernice Young Elementary School in Springdale said they had been received calls from across the country and Canada from irate parents and other individuals.
Principal Debbie Flora told the Associated Press that the callers claimed the school was teaching political opinion and that some "did not use very kind language."

It is so ridiculous to yet again pull out the race card. Every time you disagree with this administration, Obama or his policies you get called a racist! How much time will pass before they realize that these accusation only make them look like foolish school children.
There is such a double standard in Washington today. If you speak out against the liberals you're vilified on all fronts, but if you are a liberal who smears a conservative (like Reid calling Bush a liar) you aren't responsible for anything. Then again, we've learned that Washington doesn't think they are responsible to anyone except to their cronies.
The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.
I find it comical that he is so "disturbed" by the fact that their have been similarities pointed out between Obama and Nazi Germany. I personally am more disturbed by the actual similarities than by the people pointing them out. Regardless, shouldn't you look at the facts and make your own judgements instead of throwing everything into the racist basket. For now we still have the right to think, process, analysis, research and share opinions and facts.
"The president is not only the head of government, he is the head of state," he said. "And no matter who he is or how much we disagree with his policies, the president should be treated with respect."
This is possibly the most hysterical part of Carter's statements. Since when did the liberals give Bush ANY respect while he was president. During his state of the union address in 2005 the Democrat's booed our President, is that RESPECT???
Bush was called a liar, teased and bullied by media and left wing fanatics but I never heard of Carter speaking out against those people. Just because Obama is black does not make it a racial issue every time someone disagrees. And well, again, it is a totaly double standard that the things that apply to the liberals do not apply to the conservatives.
Americans of all political persuasions agree that the nation has problems. Big problems. And here's where we all part company. The political left, who now control our government, thinks we need more government -- a lot more. Those on the right see our problems as the result of excess government and want to move things in the opposite direction. The fact that Democrats, with their man in the White House and control of both houses of Congress, are having difficulty getting their big government programs passed says something about the strength of the grassroots push back now taking place. Stirring is even occurring among blacks.
According to the Pew Research Center, the president's approval rating nationwide is now 10 points lower than last April. Included in this is a three-point drop in his approval among blacks. You might say, Star, a drop in approval ratings among blacks from 95 percent to 92 percent is trivial. But I say not so. If we assume this reflects the 16 million blacks who voted for Obama last November, a three-point shift means there are about a half million blacks who now have buyer's remorse. This is meaningful. You take real risks going against the establishment in black America. Psychological risks, professional risks, and sometimes risks to personal safety. Peeling off a black who voted for Obama means moving heaven and earth.
Even a star like Bill Cosby incurred the wrath of the black establishment when he started talking about black families and personal responsibility. As result, he backed off and toned down his message. Recall during the campaign, candidate Obama ruffled Jesse Jackson's feathers when he spoke about personal responsibility among black males. An inadvertently "on" microphone picked up Jackson saying that he wanted to castrate Obama (not exactly in that language).
The black conservative is not that rare freak of nature that so many think. According to a Pew Research Center report, almost a third of blacks consider themselves conservative. However, these folks have always been inclined to be quiet because of the social pressures and intimidation. But this is changing. Despite slurs, intimidation, and widely reported physical attacks from union thugs, a few brave black souls have showed up at tea party protest rallies.
I'm getting more and more calls from black conservatives around the country running for local office. I see black conservative websites popping up, and there's even black rappers rapping a conservative message. Who, after all, could know more about the lie about government and the pretense of political answers to life's problems than blacks? It's black families that have been devastated by welfare state programs and black kids now trapped in hopeless public schools. And it's overwhelmingly black unborn children who never see the light of day. How can blacks who have their eyes open not have noticed that it was Obama who killed the D.C. school voucher program and sent black children back to one of the worst public school systems in the country?
The Cato Institute reports that, after adjusting for inflation, funds spent on public schools have doubled since 1970, with no improvement in education performance and a decrease in graduation rates. This is government at work. The Israelites wandered for 40 years after they left Egypt, giving time for the slave generation to disappear and for a new generation to bear the responsibilities of freedom. Next year marks 40 years since the decade of the '60s, which gave us the civil rights movement. I see a new generation of freedom-loving, church-going black Americans coming on the scene. Many voted for Obama out of racial pride. But their values and aspirations for freedom are causing a change of heart.
