Zo's Video: Obama Worship

Obama words...racist? Shocking but not Suprising

The thing that bothers me most is the date of this video.

The editing isn't great on this video-but the content is undeniable.

Old News-- Still Scary: Devout Muslims with Questionable ties Appointed to Homeland Security Dept

Obama and Janet Napolitano Appoint Arif Alikhan, a devout Sunni Muslim as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development Source for announcement: Homeland Security Press Room.

Alikhan is affiliated with MPAC, the "Muslim Public Affairs Council". This group actively opposed Bush's military incursions into Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as his "excesses" in the war on terror. They also:
  • claims that Islam is a religion of peace and moderation
  • Contends that Muslim extremists are no more numerous or dangerous than fundamentalists in any other faith.
  • Hold Israel entirely responsible for the "pattern of violence" in the Middle East
  • Asserts that Hezbollah "could be called a liberation movement."
  • Likens Hezbollah members to American "freedom fighters hundreds of years ago whom the British regarded as terrorists."
...............................................

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is proud to announce that the DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council

ADC has some questionable history as well. Some things include:
  • Has close ties to anti-Israel professor Rashid Khalidi, whose association with President Obama stirred controversy during last year's presidential campaign.
  • They take an openly anti-Israel line.
  • ADC also leads the opposition to domestic anti-terrorism measures taken after the 9-11 attacks, such as watch lists, background check delays for visas and an initiative meant to more comprehensively screen visitors from select Mid-east countries or specific individuals labeled as possible national security threats.
  • during one Hamas suicide bombings against Israeli civilians, then-ADC President Hamzi Moghrabi said, "I will not call [Hamas] a terrorist organization. I mean, I know many people in Hamas. They are very respectable. … I don't believe Hamas, as an organization, is a violent organization."

These headlines are not new but they are scary.

Taylor Swift's Reaction to Kanye on the View: ZoNation Takes On Hollywood Racists

Taylor Swift talks about her reaction to Kanye's actions at the VMA's. Surprise Surprise, Kanye has not reached out to Taylor Swift to apologize like he claimed he would. Interesting to note, Whoopie Goldberg asks no questions and at the end goes "Well, hopefully if Kanye is watching, he'll know what to do.

Got to love the way that Taylor Swift's has handled of this whole thing!!

Oh and question, since when is that Kate Gosselin lady on the View? Doesn't she have like 87 kids to take care of at home??

Chick Chat: The View Makes Me Question the African-American Community

With all this talk of racism I feel like I"m going to be attacked by at least some one for the things I am about to discuss/say. Yet, I have to admit that I don't care, they are my thoughts on a matter that should be open to discussion. By keeping race, racism in this don't ask, don't tell, lock down, taboo container we are only hurting and perpetuatin the issue.

On YouTube there is a video of Sherri Shepherd on The View discussing the election of Barack Obama. She get's very emotional and starts to talk about her son. Here is the basic idea of what she said...."I sat by my sons bed, and we've always been, people of color, we've always had these limitation on us....to look at my son and say, no limitation on you, its an extraordinary day for me to be able to tell my son..."

What Sherri said, I feel like I've heard the same thing from many others in the African-American community. I totally respect and can appreciate the historic nature of this election but I am just sincerely confused about this whole situation. I had a few questions come to mind...

Why is it that so much of this "we can do anything now" attitude is just now coming to light in the Africa American community?
Why is this election the "turning point" for black advancement?
Why hasn't the black community been able to rally this "success IS possible regardless of color" attitude before?

I just don't understand why the African American community wasn't able to do these thing before. To me it seems like they have held onto these prejudices as almost a safety blanket and perpetuated that to each generation, instead of trying to eradicate this "woe is me" attitude.

I'm Hispanic, there had obviously never been a Hispanic president, but I still feel that I can accomplish anything. When I was going to college in Pennsylvania, at a predominantly Anglo school, I didn't find myself ever thinking, "Oh, I don't think I'll do this because I'm different from them." I never look at things and say, oh I'm a different color or ethnicity and people will look/judge/accept me differently so I'm not going to do it.

I'm sincerely curious and confused about this continuous self perpetuated glass ceiling. I do understand that there is a degree of difficulty for the black community that doesn't exist for others. But in the past 40, almost 50 years of equality, why hasn't one generation stood up and taken that basic idea of "We are not going to be defined by the color of our skin", and added to that, "we are not going to rely on that defiance as an explanation, good or bad, for our status. My failure or success' aren't based on the color of my skin but on me, my work ethic and my persistence."

Is this the generation that will come to that realization?
Did it really take a half white black man getting all the way to the White House to get an entire community to realize that the American Dream is possible?
How many black communities are plagued with teenage pregnancy, single parent households, abuse, poverty, drug and alcohol problems, both selling and using?

There was a point in history where the black man was completley judged on the color of his skin. But is that really the case anymore? When will the African American community see that the girl getting pregnant, the woman raising her child by herself, the man emotionally or physically hurting a woman, the welfare checks instead of paycheck, the buying and selling of illegal substances, is not the "white man" fault anymore...when will they accept responsibility for their community instead of using these things as an crutch??

I am in no way trying to antagonize any group or be labeled a racist in any measure. I'm just trying to understand the logic, reasoning behind this generationally perpetuated glass ceiling.

Around 1:20 Sherri's portion begins:

Fringe News, aka CNN/MSNBC on ACORN Scandals

CNN:

Watch her try to talk her way out of the video! Hilarious talking points and ridiculous avoidance of questions. CNN interview is actually putting it to her a bit.

"How much money do you receive on average per year from the federal government?"
"On average probably around $2 million dollars across the board" -Bertha Lewis, CEO
Lets see now, according to reports, ACORN has received (more than) $53 million dollars since 1994. That's $53 million in 16 years...hmm lets do that math...cal-cu-la-ting...that's approx 3.4 million dollars a year. Wow, Lewis, that's a little more than you calculated...Are you trying to downplay something?

MSNBC:

They attempt to address the "seemingly daming" videos
Nice! Right off the bat let's put a little doubt on the validity of these videos...clever clever.

"Acorn has suspended or fired all workers involved except the San Bernandino woman who said she was playing along...but conservatives are having a field day"
Well those damn conservatives! How dare they demand more answers. We've already brushed all the crazies off, what else to they want, actually accountabilty??

"Political Analyst say this is largely driven by conservatives longstanding distaste for ACORN."
Who are these political analyst? The ivy league interns you have sitting in the back room clicking away on Google? I remember college, we analyzed plenty of things.

..................................................................

(BEST FOR LAST ha!)

"Welcome back, the GOP is ramping up their campaign against the anti-poverty group ACORN...."
Awwww, who wants to go against some organization that is fighting poverty! Those terrible Republicans! Why won't they leave these poor people alone! I mean they fired the crazy people, well except for the San Bernandino lady who was playing along with the hidden cameras, she's cool.

After saying that the census cut ties and Senate cut housing funds, he goes on to say "but that is not enough for Republicans, they don't want the group to get any kind of federal funding.
Gasp!! You mean, NO federal funding for this amazing, totally legitimate, "anti-poverty" squeeky clean group of good Samaritans! NEVER! Bad GOP!

" I know whats going on here, the conservatives just don't want ACORN to be a part of anything. Where was their outrage when Halliburton was overcharging the government and electrocuting American soldiers?"
Well, we're here now and of course we wouldn't want ACORN to be a part of anything. What is this guy smoking? There are now videos from several different offices that promote child prostitution, illegal sex trade, tax evasion, to name a few, do you want your taxes going to fund them?

"Now thats no excuse for ACORN problems, I'm not here to defend them, they need to fix thier problems fast, but REPUBLICANS are trying to broad brush this and its not that simple."
Actually it is that simple. ACORN needs to be investigated by an outside sources who is willing to get deep into the dirt of the dirt of the dirt of ACORN. Did I mention there would be a lot of dirt?

{to CEO}"Do you run an honest organization? Because the Conservatives out there are saying that everything about ACORN is dishonest?"
"Well first off, just because you repeat a lie, over and over again, doesn't make it true."
Did that count for Mickey Mouse's registration to vote? Here is something truthful for you CEO-boss-lady, just because you deny something over and over again doesn't make it go away.

"We've been running this organizing since 40 years."
Hehe, am I allowed to laugh at your poor grammar skills or is that racist?

{to CEO}"What do you say about the video tapes?"
Well first of all, for Fox and the Right Wing to have to stoop to a made up scenario is one thing, but! as you know and as I've said over and over again, those people were reprehensible...blah blah."
Gasp! How dare anyone try and uncover the truth behind a liberal organization. Damn those new mediums that show these completely fabricated, totally staged videos...oh and we fired those reprehensible people that they doctored.

"Let me say one thing, not one shred of paper kicked in because our quality control does kick in."
So you see, we aren't responsible for anything that is undocumented. We're totally guiltless and ignorant about what our employees are telling the public.

{to CEO} "...this is why I'm doing this story because a U.S. Senator has gone on record saying your whole organization is corrupt."
"Listen, this goes, waaay back, all the way back to the Bush Administration, a couple weeks ago we saw Karl Roves emails specifically targeting us and then firing U.S. attorney's because they wouldn't combat and do a political conviction against us."
Let me show you how these people made up these lies. Watch its easy! Not working? Ok well, its the Bush administrations fault that we were flagged earlier, we thought we were going to get away with it now because we have a brother in the House but,...oh wait, was that racist??

"We compete for those dollars, we're effective, and were just the target of this right wing republican attempt..."
Compete by seeing who can come up with the most creative fake name for voter registrations? No no, must be who can come up with the most names for the fake voter registrations.
Oh and can I mention that there were only 7 Democrats and 0 Republicans that voted to have you keep your money. But it's all the Republican's doing. Like we could pass anything w/o Dem support in this off balance government.

Do you have a ....Race Card? Nope. Go Fish.

Jimmy Carter: Wilson comments 'based on racism'

Riiiiight Jimmy Carter and you were the greatest American President EVER!

It is so ridiculous to yet again pull out the race card. Every time you disagree with this administration, Obama or his policies you get called a racist! How much time will pass before they realize that these accusation only make them look like foolish school children.

There is such a double standard in Washington today. If you speak out against the liberals you're vilified on all fronts, but if you are a liberal who smears a conservative (like Reid calling Bush a liar) you aren't responsible for anything. Then again, we've learned that Washington doesn't think they are responsible to anyone except to their cronies.

The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.

I find it comical that he is so "disturbed" by the fact that their have been similarities pointed out between Obama and Nazi Germany. I personally am more disturbed by the actual similarities than by the people pointing them out. Regardless, shouldn't you look at the facts and make your own judgements instead of throwing everything into the racist basket. For now we still have the right to think, process, analysis, research and share opinions and facts.

"The president is not only the head of government, he is the head of state," he said. "And no matter who he is or how much we disagree with his policies, the president should be treated with respect."

This is possibly the most hysterical part of Carter's statements. Since when did the liberals give Bush ANY respect while he was president. During his state of the union address in 2005 the Democrat's booed our President, is that RESPECT???

Bush was called a liar, teased and bullied by media and left wing fanatics but I never heard of Carter speaking out against those people. Just because Obama is black does not make it a racial issue every time someone disagrees. And well, again, it is a totaly double standard that the things that apply to the liberals do not apply to the conservatives.

March of Washington, Hundreds of Thousands of Patriots

I've never been surrounded by so many people and felt so safe! I've never been around so many American's and felt so proud! I've never been so encouraged! Today was such an amazing experience! It was a monumental moment in our fight against government waste, fraud, corruption, control...etc

I have to say that this March on Washington was not even remotely about a group of "sore losers" (as the Huffington Post claimed) expressing their racist and bi-partisan views. While there I heard and saw discontent about overall spending, fundamental changes, control and the corrupt agendas of the Obama's administration. I didn't hear or see, anything or anyone saying or carrying racial slurs. I even saw a poster with the words "Faces of Fascism" sprawled across it and pictures that included Obama's face alongside Bush's. This wasn't about Obama being elected, it wasn't some racist attempt to harm the president...it was all about claiming our rights as American's to disagree with the govenment.

From the moment we left our hotel room we started seeing the protesters. On the metro, men gave up their seat to women/children/elderly while people sang God Bless America. The metro stops were packed and people continues to cheer, chant and sing as they exited the buildings. When I was on Pennsylvania Avenue there was a SEA of people! I have no words to descirbe the amount of people there...you'll have to wait for the pictures.

The people were so nice, so polite, so friendly that I felt like everyone was someone I had already met! We marched all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue and gathered on the lawns of the Capitol building. My estimate would be somewhere around 750,000 to 1,200,000 people....don't pay attention to the media, look at the pictures and videos and make your own judgement about how many were there!

We walked around for a while, and then pulled out our blanket and sat on the lawn listening to the speakers. Which I must admit, I didn't see once! You could at least hear the speakers from where I was, but not see them. There were some people that couldn't hear very much but that was a blessing since it meant that the protest was a lot bigger than even the organizers imagined!

My mother and I met countless people from Maryland, South/North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, California, Washington State, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and I know there were a lot more states represented!

I'm trying to get the pictures up as sooon as I can, I have a couple hundred so its taking me a little longer to get an album of some sort going. In the meantime, I'll put up some YouTube vids and article links as they come up.

Another victory for the conservative cause!

This is of course another small victory for the conservatives who've worked tirelessly to stop corruption in government and aligned organizations. Between Van Jones, these 2 ACORN videos and the march on washington tomorrow I'm feeling really good about our cause right now. Maybe its the DC high or maybe its that the tides have begun to change a bit. Whatever it is, I really want to bottle up this hope I'm feeling so I can take a bit and remind myself every once in a while.

Here is the 2nd pimp and hooker video:

While resting up for tomorrow I was, of course, watching a little Fox News when they announced that the Census Bureau had severed ties with ACORN because of the second pimp and hooker video that came out today from Big Government.com. It is really nice to see some part of our government pulling away and recognizing the corruption of the organizations with which they are aligned.

Now if only we could move that mentality toward the White House.

Once again, they play the race card: Maryland ACORN Official: FoxNews Racism Behind ACORN Investigation

Official Statement From ACORN Housing President Alton Bennett, Executive Director Mike Shea

...............................................

Offical Letter from Census Director:

September 11, 2009
Ms. Maude Hurd
President ACORN
739 8th St SE
Washington, DC 20003

Dear Ms. Hurd:
The goal of the U.S. Census Bureau's partnership program is to combine the stregths of state, local, and tribal governments, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, schools, media, businesses and others to ensure an accurate 2010 Census. While not (sic) Census bureau employees, partners are advocates for census cooperation and participation. They serve a trusted voices within their communities and are critical to our strategy to count everyone once, only once, and in the right place.

The Census Bureau has established criteria for partnerships, which are listed on our Web site at , and reserves the right to decline partnership or to terminate an existing partnership agreement with any group that 1) may create a negative connotation for the Census Bureau; 2) could distract from the Census Bureau's mission; or, 3) may make people fearful of participating in the census.
To that end, and in keeping with the standards we shared with your organization and others who
volunteered to partner with the Census Bureau to help promote the 2010 Census, we are today terminating our Partnership Agreement with ACORN.

Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is
clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts. While not decisive factors in this decision, recent events concerning several local offices of ACORN have added to the worsening negative perceptions of ACORN and its affiliation with our
partnership efforts.

We do not come to this decision lightly. It was our original assessment that your organization could be helpful in encouraging cooperation with the 2010 Census among individuals who are historically hard to count, including renters, low-income residents, the linguistically isolated, and others. As of today, we have close to 80,000 partnership agreements with national and local groups - many of whom are trusted voices and serve these same populations - and we will be relying upon those groups to continue our outreach in the communities you serve. The full participation of those populations remains of utmost importance to us.

Unfortunately, we no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your many local offices. For the reasons stated, we therefore have
decided to terminate the partnership.

Respectfully,
Robert M. Groves
Director

Chick Chat: Living life with the liberty to pursue happiness

.
The Bill:
Cybersecurity Act of 2009

Original Article:
Bill would give Obama power to shut down internet, networks during cyber attack: NetworkWorld

Updated Article:
Bill would give president emergency control of Internet: CNETNews

Details:

Cybersecurity Act of 2009 : Directs the President to establish or designate a Cybersecurity Advisory Panel to advise the President. Private networks could be shut down by government order and would be regulated by government mandated security standards and technical configurations

Thoughts:

This is an extremely scary thought. One of our basic rights is the freedom of speech and although Jefferson could not have conceived of the notion of the internet, it has become a staple part of the American conversation. What is scary is that there doesn't seem to be a clear definition of the"national security" reasons to shut down the internet. Also frightening is the fact that Obama will be putting together this Advisory Panel and they will report directly to him. Now considering teh wonderful job he has done of choosing socialist, anti-capitalist and communist to his current Czar-asters, I'M WORRIED! (Thanks to Glenn for Czar-asters info- check out posts about him)

What is there stopping this panel from deciding that people who speak out against our President or Congress aren't creating some sort of national security issue. There are plenty of ways to twist and turn people's concerns into some sort of evil plan. I personally don't like Barry O, but I wish him no harm. Especially since we have the dimwitted spill-national-security-secrets-Biden as the other option. Could you imagine how awful he would be as President?? God we would be blown up within a year because he would accidentally tell our enemies the codes to all our nukes.

Moving on, this issue is really quite a concern. It's not quite as much at the forefront as health care in all the news medias or in people's minds yet. But it poses a big threat to the health care debate, when people start to hear more about this there is going to be some major backlash on the internet, if there isn't already! That, conveniently, moves the debate away from health care.

However, the health care debate is (to me) about a lot more than just MRI's and gov't funded abortions. It's about the basic principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Living life with the liberty to pursue happiness in whatever way we so desire. For me that means holding on to my freedom from government control, so I will continue to pursue my life with my liberties until I am labeled a national threat for my "un-American, racist" viewpoints.

Chick Chat: ObamaCare Yay Or Nay? The Truth About Canada!

Comedian Steve Crowder goes undercover as a Canadian in need of some health care. Telling and funny at the same time

Click here for Steve Crowder's site

While this videos logic is a little flawed it does make some good point.

Yes you wait a long time in the U.S. when you go into the emergency room BUT you can go to places like the minute clinic or an urgent care facility.

Last year I was visiting my cousin in Memphis when her 2 year old son started suffering from a really bad cold. He was holding his ear a lot and so we decided to take him to the minute clinic instead of the doctor/hospital. It took about 25-30 minutes from start to finish at the minute clinic and the cost was minimal.

Most private insurance plans cover urgent care facilities, but even if you have to pay, the cost is much more reasonable than $900 just to see a doctor.

This past April I went outside to walk my dog when I tripped and fell. I've never been in so much pain in my life. We had to call fire rescue to come help me to the car because I had hurt BOTH ankles. Although I was perfectly convinced they were broken rescue said they were probably sprains and recommended that I go to an urgent care facility near my house. When I arrived at urgent care I was in the waiting room for approx. 15 minutes before I was taken in, x-rayed and seen by a doctor all in the next hour and a half. The problem with Obamacare is that these private options will become obsolete because of high taxes and government regulations.

An issue with this video is that it seems like he is comparing US and Canadian emergency rooms. BUT in reality the other places he visits are clinics where he is trying to do a simple blood test. It is in those locations that he learns that there are 2-3 year waits to get a family doctor.

Obama can say you won't have to change your doctor all he want, but the evidence is that a government option will kill private business, leading to the bad health care, long wait times and the care rationing we see in this video. There is no way to compete when the government can print money & raise taxes all they want.

It is also a gross misrepresentation that this is going to be an OPTION. If you do not have health care, you will be forced onto the public plan. If you loose you health care with your employer, you go on the public plan. So you can keep your doctor, keep your insurance as long as your company provides the insurance. Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

Some argue it is an option because you will "buy either the public or one of the private plans through the new exchange (like a stock exchange)". Others argue that the bill doesn't explicitly state that you will be forced onto a plan.

Well, that is just fine but what if you don't want health care? What I have been able to sift through is telling me that if you are eligible for Medicaid you are indeed forced onto the public option. (Sec 205) pg 102. Now who set regulations for Medicaid?

Also, companies are basically forced to provided health care either through private or public insurers. They are required to auto enroll individuals unless said individual affirmatively opts out. Employers who refuse to offer health insurance will be taxed 2 - 8% on their payroll. And people who do not have or buy “acceptable coverage” (per government definition) must pay 2.5% of their income to the government (Sec. 401)

So the truth is that you will be forced onto health care one way or another. That is their goal, government control!

Now remember, everyone will pay for this with major tax increase. As I talked about in another post, in HR 3200 on pg. 198 it says that funds for the new program will come from Medicare. It ALSO says that "taxes will automatically increase if saving is not achieved". Now, since Medicare is basically broke (admitted by Obama himself) this provision will go into effect. We will be facing a 600 billion tax increase, all hidden in this bill.

Speaking out against this doesn't make me hateful or racist. I agree we need reform, but not a complete overhaul of the best system in the world. While many other socialized health care systems are moving away from it, we are flying blindly towards it. It is a liberal lie to say we need to join the rest of the world with the our health care system. We have some of the best health care in the world and what we need is TORT reform. Insurance reform. not care reform.

Beck is doing a series this week called, The New Republic: America's Future. He will ask the hard questions and talk about the things that no one is talking about. He makes sure to point out that "this show is an opinion show."

I will do my best to detail at least some of the key information that he covers, even if its not on "time" and place the youtube clips below for more detailed information.

Beck does an amazing job of putting a million details into a 1 hour programs and it is sometimes impossible to get everything! So don't forget to tune in all this week at 5 pm on Fox to watch The Glenn Beck program.

Part 1

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
  • Movement for a Democratic Society, 2006 founded by Communist Party...just one of the many groups involved in the bills being written.
  • White House has emailed to tell Beck to stop calling Van Jones a Czar, not address, clarify of rebuke any other of the things he has been talking about. They only thing they wanted to clarify was that Peter Orszag, Czar was approved by Senate.
  • Speak Without Fear is what he will be focusing on.
  • Evidence and New Strategy is to Silence Dissent!
  • Localism and Diversity will be how they silence public voice, not Fairness Doctrine
  • Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd said, "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press, This freedom is all to often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies."
  • Proposed that 100% tax of operating budget be given to government for public radio. If you can't pay it then your license will be revoked and given to a minority group.
  • Van Jones, "My job is not that different than before...I'm basically a community organizer inside the federal family."
Guest: Seton Motley, Communication Dir, Media Research Center
  • WATCH for Mark Lloyd Video on State Control of Media, 2008. Basically talks about how Chavez achieved his democratic advancement by controlling the media. Opposed to ANY private media ownership.
  • FCC has a new motto: diversity, competition and localism....that was put in place during Bush administration. This is not about Obama these people have been preparing for this moment for a very long time.
  • Motley: Diversity (Czar) Officer, Mark Lloyd is fundamentally opposed to private ownership of media at all.
  • Fairness Doctrine: FCC Policy that controversial subject be fair
1985: FCC declared Fairness Doctrine wasn't working
1987: President Reagan vetoed fairness doctrine
PERSONAL NOTE: If you drive down to key west you can hear the radio in Cuba. Sit there for a moment and listen. There is NO news! It is all propaganda. "Porque los yankees.." (translation: because those Yankee's)..then they blame the U.S. for not having toilet paper or whatever. Things in Venezuela are the same! Yet we have people in our government that want these things??? VERY SCARY!
  • Mark Lloyd: "...and social Change. In Venezuela, with Chavez, really an incredible Revolution- a Democratic Revolution- to begin to put in place saying that we're going to have impact on the people of Venezuela... the property owners and the folks who were then controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled --work frankly with folks here in the U.S. government-worked to oust him and came back and had another revolution. And Chavez then stated to take the media very seriously in this country. " (2008)

Reasonable Question for Unreasonable Times

Guest: Seton Motley, Communication Dir, Media Research Center
  • Motley: "The New FCC Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd plans is to use the nebulous regulations of diversity and localism to use alternate routs to get to the same destination as the Fairness Doctrine. Which is to shut you up by shutting you down. He want to as salt the radio industry to assault the idilogical outcome. He will do this by taxing 100% of operating cost for the year."
  • Motley: On top of that if you arent meeting his definition of media diversity and localism he wants to fine you. He has actually come up with a Media Diversity and Localism mathematical equation. There are issues with this equation because he has 4 numerator all multiplied by each other, so if you mess up one you fail and are fined. Also the way it is set up, if you hire 3 white guys that are local then that doesn't help your diversity and you fail and are fined.
  • We're only talking about race not diversity of opinion.
  • Motley: Don't forget he is working with the Diversity Panel/Committee that has about 31 organization on there and none of them are conservative. So there is certainly no ideological diversity on the Diversity Committee.
  • Lloyd: "In our report, we call for ownership of Rules that we think will create greater local diversity of programming, news and commentary and we call for more localism by putting more teeth into licensing rules."
  • Motley: Basically he wants to set up 8 Diversity Boards across the country that will regulate: Political Advertising and Commentary, number of Commercials and Ratings information about programs before they are broadcast.

Part 3

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times

Guest: Rush Limbaugh
  • Limbaugh: Sarah Palin tweeted urging people to watch this week.
Obama doesn't like to debate his opponents he just want to obliterate them.
It's simply Un-American what the Diversity Czar Lloyd is doing.
Fairness Doctrine is too obvious so they are going to try to backdoor.
Radio means to much to people so I don't think it will work. People are too informed!
  • Lloyd traces rise of conservative radio to "relaxed ownership rules"
  • Loyd worked at NBC, CNN Prior to Becoming a Communication Attorney
  • Limbaugh: Obama army isn't showing up with any passion for Obama's...Passion, Love of Country will outmaneuver fake passion. Dangerous time for freedom and liberty in this country.
  • Limbaugh: This is not politics as usual, this not democrat vs. republican, this is totalitarianism vs freedom.

Part 4

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times

Guest: Rush Limbaugh

  • Why doesn't media report this?
  • Limbaugh: Because they think that they will end up in the inside circle of this thing. I have a question: How is it that people know what is in this bill? The Media sure hadn't told them. People are informed...The effort to discredit us will always fail as long as we stay true to ourselves...I am confident that this will pass.
  • Cute little exchange between Glenn and Limbaugh

Part 5

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
  • There is something going on and something doesn't feel right and your freedom is at stake.
Guest: Karl Rove, Fox news Contributor
  • Beck: Lets not talk about Politics, lets talk about the Constitution
  • Rove: We face a very real dancer of changing what our country it, by centralized power in government in Washington. Everyone has had Czars, but not Czars like this.
  • Beck: No one is taking the facts of this show on. 3 million people watched the show. Not one has taken the facts apart, they've taken me apart. Why is that not a problem?
  • Rove: This president is running our country in a way no other president has ever done before. He is running the country centralized from the White House. For example, by what authority did the Car Czar fire the Board of GM? There is no precedence for that. Lloyd is a complete lunatic if he believes that Venezuela is the model to follow. Someone needs to ask these questions?
  • Rove: The White House Press Corp is largely compliant....and members of the press tell me that Gibbs doesn't respond to emails and phone calls, he just so comfortable, that he is not going to be challenge and wont deal with tough questions. That is his job.

Part 6

Day 3

  • Why does the FCC have a diversity "czar"?

  • Who is Mark Lloyd and how does he plan to "balance" the airwaves?

  • Will he bring back the Fairness Doctrine or worse?

  • Cass Sunstein once said he wants to balance the Internet; is that next?

  • Will broadcasters who leave the airwaves be allowed to go to satellite or Internet without government regulation?

  • Is there any place (that has a mass audience) where the government wont regulate free speech?

  • Why does it seem every member of the Obama advisory team hates capitalism, unless those companies (like G.E.) are in bed with the administration?

  • If Lloyd has his way, stations who don't comply to the governments definition of the "public interest" will have to pay a massive fine — that helps support public broadcasting:

  • What will be the definition of "public interest"?

  • Who defines "public interest"?

  • Why should it be balanced? Because it's public airwaves? (Well, there are public roads that go by my house and I don't count how many Republicans and Democrats are driving on them)
