"If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose that Freedom; and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money that it values more, it will lose that too." -Somerset Maugham
"I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I traveled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer." - Ben Franklin
On the eve of the release of Glenn Beck's New Book Arguing with Idiots there is a decent backlash against the popular news commentator and corruption ouster's latest libro.
I will not be posting links to those who are calling this book "a desperate move by a desperate man" or claiming "He is desperately doing everything to rebrand his challengers as idiots." But I will laugh at the pitiful attempts to turn this title around. Obviously, I have not read the book yet, but do plan on doing so asap.
I have watched and listen to enough Beck to know that he is not trying to categorize the entire left-wing-obama-supporters as idiots. From my understanding he is merely giving us the tools, proof and sources we need to defend ourselves against the on slaughter of liberal bias and those being informed by the less-than-honorable-sources. I am looking forward to reading this book!!
"How about the funding for ACORN?" "Frankly its not something that I've followed closely, I didn't even know ACORN was getting a lot of federal funding."-Barack Obama
.:: Glenn::.Tonight I've decided to ask the President some questions and use the answers that hes already given because he is not giving anything new...I hear people say, he ran as a centrist and now he is not governing that way...I maintain that Obama told us absolutely everything that he was going to do and he still is, every step of the way. People just didn't listen, they only heard what they wanted to hear.
"I have not said that I was a single payer supporter because frankly, we historically, have had an employer-based system in this country with private insurers and for us to transition to a single payer system, I believe would be too disruptive."- Barack Obama
.::Me::. So he is not for a single payer system not because its fundamentally bad, but because its too "disruptive"?
.::Glenn::. Well what I happen to know is that a few years ago Obama said this...
"I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer, universal health care plan...A single payer health care plan--universal health care plan. That's what I'd like to see." - Barack Obama to the AFL-CIO in 2003
.::Video::.Portions Shown
.::Video::. Tides Center Rep talking about how a we will move towards the single payer system without being so disruptive.
.::Glenn::. Is it even feasible to have this number of marxist, radicals, anti-capitalist etc near him?.... Maybe the President is blind to character? Maybe the President is part of the problem? Maybe the President is in danger because no one is vetting these people? Is the FBI even showing up for work? That's for you to decide. But You won't be able to decided if the people the President grants interviews too only ask him insipid shallow questions over and over and over again...
Obama's favorite line when deflecting questions is...Bush look at that guy. Bush had czars too!...Yeah some people were yelling back then too and I have the archives to prove how much I was yelling at that guy. But Bush's czars didn't have the radical ideology many of these people do... He will say that Bush started us down the path down socialism...and he would be right by that. Bush started the crazy spending...he'd be right again.... Bush started the bailouts...yes he did, hated him for it.
My question to President Obama would be um, I'm sorry, is this just Bush's third term? Are you continuing all of his policies?
....Anyone out there who voted for Obama should be asking themselves, jeeze did I misunderstand that President because I thought he believed in change? Or was it that he misunderstood me?
We should have seen this coming before his first day in office when he said this, "We are 5 days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America"-Barack Obama
.::Paraphrasing Glenn::.Obama has been compared to FDR, Kennedy, Lincoln, is that because people are afraid to just look at him? Why is no one making him talk about his mentor- Frank Marshal Davis- a radical communist? Do you still care lessons from your mentor with you? Is it reasonable to ask what part of Davis he carries around with him? No one is looking at his college years. Look at what he says about his associations in college.
"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminist and punk-rock performance poets." - Barack Obama, Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance
.::Glenn::. "I hate to keep bring up the past but we have to ask. He chose his friends carefully back then, the question is does he choose his advisors closely now."
Video: Van Jones talking about Redistributing Wealth
.::Glenn::. That sounds radical to most Americans but listen to what our own President says
"The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth...The tragedies of the civil rights movement was , um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers though which you bring about redistributive change." - Obama on Chicago Public Radio, 2001
.::Paraphrasing Glenn::. Are we listeneing American?? Because he is telling us that we have dismissed the community organizers...ACORN, Tides, SEIU, Apollo etc... that can put together the coalition that can bring about change...
"How about the funding for ACORN?" George Stephanopoulos "Frankly its not something that I've followed closely, I didn't even know ACORN was getting a lot of federal funding."-Barack Obama "Well the Senate and the House have voted to cut it off." George Stephanopoulos "Ya know, what I know is what I saw in that video was certainty inappropriate and deserves to be.."-Barack Obama "So your not committing to cutting off federal funding?" George Stephanopoulos "George this is not the biggest issue facing the country, its not something I'm paying a lot of attention too." -Barack Obama
"Before I even get inaugurated, were going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. Were going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations [ACORN] so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America"- Barack Obama
.::paraphrasing Glenn::. Obama also closely tied to SEIU, which ACORN founder Wade Rafky is also closely tied too...
"I've spent my entire adult life working with SEIU. I'm not a newcomer to this. I didn't just suddenly discover SEIU..."-Barack Obama
.::Glenn::. Then there is Ameri-Cor, or is it Ameri-Cor. I'm not really sure what the president is describing here.
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the nation security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force thats just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."-Barack Obama
.::Glenn::. Really, why do we need that?
"Ive been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran project vote voter registration drive in Illinois, when I ran project vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciated your work." -Sam Graham-Felsen, Ran Obama's Campaign Blog
.::Glenn::. Just past week he has raised the possibility of amnesty and citizenship for the 20 million people who are already here illegally.
"If someone is here illegally they won't be covered under this plan. That's a commitment I've made. But I also want to make this clear. Even though I don't believe we can extend coverage to those that are here illegally, I don't believe that we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken.......If anything this debate underscores necessity for passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all." - Barack Obama
............................................................... Obama and ACORN
Guest: John Fund, Author, Stealing Elections, The Wall Street Journal
.::Glenn::. He didnt know they were getting federal funding? .::Fund::. It's curious because ACORN has gotten federal funding throughout his existence and he has a long hisotry of working with ACORN. He was a trainer for them in Chicago and a lawyer for them. I suspect at some point ACORN paid him, I suspect some of that was federal funds.
.::Note::. ABC was the ONLY Network to ask President Obama about ACORN
.::Fund::. Obamas campaign spend over $800,000 with an ACORN affiliate to get out the vote. Voter registration...and the money was categorized and reported to Federal Election Commission as staging and lighting....Then they corrected themselves when they got caught by a Pittsburg paper. So the Obama campaign was not particularaly eager to have people know that they were hiring a ACORN affiliate to help with voter registration.
.::Fund::. Its strange because throughout his career he has been proud of being affiliated with ACORN....He knew everything about and now he knows nothings about ACORN makes me think something is there...All I know is that he is retrieting from ACORN faster than a speeding bullet.
.::Fund::. He just refered to the conduct as inappropriate, I think almost anyone would have used a stronger word.
.::Note::. Then attorney Barack Obama represented ACORN in Lawsuit in 1995
In 1995 there was something called the Million Man March where an estimated 870,000 people attended.
Now take a look at these two pictures...
Which one was from today?
If you didn't already guess, the first one was from 1995 and the second was from today.... You make your own judgement on how many people were there.
Here is another comparison photo for you:
Million Man March:
9/12 March on Washington:
(Mind you, there are a few difference, there are people in the entire area behind the huge tree on the left side of the picture that wasn't there in '95, I know because I was in that area AND that green area you see in the middle was blocked off by the police. )
I've never been surrounded by so many people and felt so safe! I've never been around so many American's and felt so proud! I've never been so encouraged! Today was such an amazing experience! It was a monumental moment in our fight against government waste, fraud, corruption, control...etc
I have to say that this March on Washington was not even remotely about a group of "sore losers" (as the Huffington Post claimed) expressing their racist and bi-partisan views. While there I heard and saw discontent about overall spending, fundamental changes, control and the corrupt agendas of the Obama's administration. I didn't hear or see, anything or anyone saying or carrying racial slurs. I even saw a poster with the words "Faces of Fascism" sprawled across it and pictures that included Obama's face alongside Bush's. This wasn't about Obama being elected, it wasn't some racist attempt to harm the president...it was all about claiming our rights as American's to disagree with the govenment.
From the moment we left our hotel room we started seeing the protesters. On the metro, men gave up their seat to women/children/elderly while people sang God Bless America. The metro stops were packed and people continues to cheer, chant and sing as they exited the buildings. When I was on Pennsylvania Avenue there was a SEA of people! I have no words to descirbe the amount of people there...you'll have to wait for the pictures.
The people were so nice, so polite, so friendly that I felt like everyone was someone I had already met! We marched all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue and gathered on the lawns of the Capitol building. My estimate would be somewhere around 750,000 to 1,200,000 people....don't pay attention to the media, look at the pictures and videos and make your own judgement about how many were there!
We walked around for a while, and then pulled out our blanket and sat on the lawn listening to the speakers. Which I must admit, I didn't see once! You could at least hear the speakers from where I was, but not see them. There were some people that couldn't hear very much but that was a blessing since it meant that the protest was a lot bigger than even the organizers imagined!
My mother and I met countless people from Maryland, South/North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, California, Washington State, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and I know there were a lot more states represented!
I'm trying to get the pictures up as sooon as I can, I have a couple hundred so its taking me a little longer to get an album of some sort going. In the meantime, I'll put up some YouTube vids and article links as they come up.
A Raritan, New Jersey woman has taken to YouTube to expose something fishy on her cable listings. The woman has her DVR set to record Fox News Channel's Glenn Beck. But when she looked at her scheduled listings last week, the show comes up as Glen I F"ck.
Jim Maiella, a Cablevision corporate spokesperson, declined to comment to TVNewser about how this may have happened. Below is the first video, and after the jump a second video showing how all her "Glenn Beck" recordings came up as Glen I F"ck.
Details: Cybersecurity Act of 2009 : Directs the President to establish or designate a Cybersecurity Advisory Panel to advise the President. Private networks could be shut down by government order and would be regulated by government mandated security standards and technical configurations Thoughts:
This is an extremely scary thought. One of our basic rights is the freedom of speech and although Jefferson could not have conceived of the notion of the internet, it has become a staple part of the American conversation. What is scary is that there doesn't seem to be a clear definition of the"national security" reasons to shut down the internet. Also frightening is the fact that Obama will be putting together this Advisory Panel and they will report directly to him. Now considering teh wonderful job he has done of choosing socialist, anti-capitalist and communist to his current Czar-asters, I'M WORRIED! (Thanks to Glenn for Czar-asters info- check out posts about him) What is there stopping this panel from deciding that people who speak out against our President or Congress aren't creating some sort of national security issue. There are plenty of ways to twist and turn people's concerns into some sort of evil plan. I personally don't like Barry O, but I wish him no harm. Especially since we have the dimwitted spill-national-security-secrets-Biden as the other option. Could you imagine how awful he would be as President?? God we would be blown up within a year because he would accidentally tell our enemies the codes to all our nukes.
Moving on, this issue is really quite a concern. It's not quite as much at the forefront as health care in all the news medias or in people's minds yet. But it poses a big threat to the health care debate, when people start to hear more about this there is going to be some major backlash on the internet, if there isn't already! That, conveniently, moves the debate away from health care.
However, the health care debate is (to me) about a lot more than just MRI's and gov't funded abortions. It's about the basic principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Living life with the liberty to pursue happiness in whatever way we so desire. For me that means holding on to my freedom from government control, so I will continue to pursue my life with my liberties until I am labeled a national threat for my "un-American, racist" viewpoints.
Beck is doing a series this week called, The New Republic: America's Future. He will ask the hard questions and talk about the things that no one is talking about. He makes sure to point out that "this show is an opinion show."
I will do my best to detail at least some of the key information that he covers, even if its not on "time" and place the youtube clips below for more detailed information.
Beck does an amazing job of putting a million details into a 1 hour programs and it is sometimes impossible to get everything! So don't forget to tune in all this week at 5 pm on Fox to watch The Glenn Beck program.

Why do we need a civilian force?
Who is posing a threat to us?
Who will this "force" be made up of?
Who is the real enemy?
Does the president know of a coming event? If not, who builds an army against an unrecognized enemy?
Why won't the media get off their butts and look into these radicals in the White House? And into this civilian army?

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
Movement for a Democratic Society, 2006 founded by Communist Party...just one of the many groups involved in the bills being written.
White House has emailed to tell Beck to stop calling Van Jones a Czar, not address, clarify of rebuke any other of the things he has been talking about. They only thing they wanted to clarify was that Peter Orszag, Czar was approved by Senate.
Speak Without Fear is what he will be focusing on.
Evidence and New Strategy is to Silence Dissent!
Localism and Diversity will be how they silence public voice, not Fairness Doctrine
Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd said, "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press, This freedom is all to often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies."
Proposed that 100% tax of operating budget be given to government for public radio. If you can't pay it then your license will be revoked and given to a minority group.
Van Jones, "My job is not that different than before...I'm basically a community organizer inside the federal family."
Guest: Seton Motley, Communication Dir, Media Research Center
WATCH for Mark Lloyd Video on State Control of Media, 2008. Basically talks about how Chavez achieved his democratic advancement by controlling the media. Opposed to ANY private media ownership.
FCC has a new motto: diversity, competition and localism....that was put in place during Bush administration. This is not about Obama these people have been preparing for this moment for a very long time.
Motley: Diversity (Czar) Officer, Mark Lloyd is fundamentally opposed to private ownership of media at all.
Fairness Doctrine: FCC Policy that controversial subject be fair 1985: FCC declared Fairness Doctrine wasn't working 1987: President Reagan vetoed fairness doctrine
PERSONAL NOTE: If you drive down to key west you can hear the radio in Cuba. Sit there for a moment and listen. There is NO news! It is all propaganda. "Porque los yankees.." (translation: because those Yankee's)..then they blame the U.S. for not having toilet paper or whatever. Things in Venezuela are the same! Yet we have people in our government that want these things??? VERY SCARY!
Mark Lloyd: "...and social Change. In Venezuela, with Chavez, really an incredible Revolution- a Democratic Revolution- to begin to put in place saying that we're going to have impact on the people of Venezuela... the property owners and the folks who were then controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled --work frankly with folks here in the U.S. government-worked to oust him and came back and had another revolution. And Chavez then stated to take the media very seriously in this country. " (2008)

Part 2
Reasonable Question for Unreasonable Times
Guest: Seton Motley, Communication Dir, Media Research Center
Motley: "The New FCC Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd plans is to use the nebulous regulations of diversity and localism to use alternate routs to get to the same destination as the Fairness Doctrine. Which is to shut you up by shutting you down. He want to as salt the radio industry to assault the idilogical outcome. He will do this by taxing 100% of operating cost for the year."
Motley: On top of that if you arent meeting his definition of media diversity and localism he wants to fine you. He has actually come up with a Media Diversity and Localism mathematical equation. There are issues with this equation because he has 4 numerator all multiplied by each other, so if you mess up one you fail and are fined. Also the way it is set up, if you hire 3 white guys that are local then that doesn't help your diversity and you fail and are fined.
We're only talking about race not diversity of opinion.
Motley: Don't forget he is working with the Diversity Panel/Committee that has about 31 organization on there and none of them are conservative. So there is certainly no ideological diversity on the Diversity Committee.
Lloyd: "In our report, we call for ownership of Rules that we think will create greater local diversity of programming, news and commentary and we call for more localism by putting more teeth into licensing rules."
Motley: Basically he wants to set up 8 Diversity Boards across the country that will regulate: Political Advertising and Commentary, number of Commercials and Ratings information about programs before they are broadcast.

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
Guest: Rush Limbaugh
Limbaugh: Sarah Palin tweeted urging people to watch this week. Obama doesn't like to debate his opponents he just want to obliterate them. It's simply Un-American what the Diversity Czar Lloyd is doing. Fairness Doctrine is too obvious so they are going to try to backdoor. Radio means to much to people so I don't think it will work. People are too informed!
Lloyd traces rise of conservative radio to "relaxed ownership rules"
Loyd worked at NBC, CNN Prior to Becoming a Communication Attorney
Limbaugh: Obama army isn't showing up with any passion for Obama's...Passion, Love of Country will outmaneuver fake passion. Dangerous time for freedom and liberty in this country.
Limbaugh: This is not politics as usual, this not democrat vs. republican, this is totalitarianism vs freedom.

Part 4
Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
Guest: Rush Limbaugh
Why doesn't media report this?
Limbaugh: Because they think that they will end up in the inside circle of this thing. I have a question: How is it that people know what is in this bill? The Media sure hadn't told them. People are informed...The effort to discredit us will always fail as long as we stay true to ourselves...I am confident that this will pass.
Cute little exchange between Glenn and Limbaugh

Part 5
Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
There is something going on and something doesn't feel right and your freedom is at stake.
Guest: Karl Rove, Fox news Contributor
Beck: Lets not talk about Politics, lets talk about the Constitution
Rove: We face a very real dancer of changing what our country it, by centralized power in government in Washington. Everyone has had Czars, but not Czars like this.
Beck: No one is taking the facts of this show on. 3 million people watched the show. Not one has taken the facts apart, they've taken me apart. Why is that not a problem?
Rove: This president is running our country in a way no other president has ever done before. He is running the country centralized from the White House. For example, by what authority did the Car Czar fire the Board of GM? There is no precedence for that. Lloyd is a complete lunatic if he believes that Venezuela is the model to follow. Someone needs to ask these questions?
Rove: The White House Press Corp is largely compliant....and members of the press tell me that Gibbs doesn't respond to emails and phone calls, he just so comfortable, that he is not going to be challenge and wont deal with tough questions. That is his job.

Part 6
Day 3
Why does the FCC have a diversity "czar"?
Who is Mark Lloyd and how does he plan to "balance" the airwaves?
Will he bring back the Fairness Doctrine or worse?
Cass Sunstein once said he wants to balance the Internet; is that next?
Will broadcasters who leave the airwaves be allowed to go to satellite or Internet without government regulation?
Is there any place (that has a mass audience) where the government wont regulate free speech?
Why does it seem every member of the Obama advisory team hates capitalism, unless those companies (like G.E.) are in bed with the administration?
If Lloyd has his way, stations who don't comply to the governments definition of the "public interest" will have to pay a massive fine — that helps support public broadcasting:
What will be the definition of "public interest"?
Who defines "public interest"?
Why should it be balanced? Because it's public airwaves? (Well, there are public roads that go by my house and I don't count how many Republicans and Democrats are driving on them)

Obama said, you want to know what I believe, look at the people I associate with...that is what we are doing: That we know of there are 5 radical leftist currently advising Obama (these have been the vocal ones) 1. Van Jones, Green Jobs Czar, Communist 2. John Holdren, Science Czar, forced abortions, neither the Declaration of Independence nor Constitution mentions a right to reproduce. 3. Cas Sunstien, Reglatory Czar, has proposed a bans on hunting and eating meat, dog allowed attorney, fairness doctrine for internet 4. Carol Browner, Global Warming Czar, Part of Socialist Intentional: a group for global governments 5. Ezekiel Emmanuel, Health Care Adviser, proponent of complete lives system, put values on lives based on age
Does the President know that he was in indirect contact with the other founder of the Weather Underground who bombed Federal Building? Since that man, Jeff Jones, according to Barney Frank, is now helping us write our bills, aka the Stimulus Bill.

Video about who is writing these bills
Andy Stern, President of SEIU, "I think I can finally prove Reagan and Bush wrong, Wealth does not trickle down, it trickles up."
Rep. Maxine Water, May 2008, " And guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal would be all about socializing -uh, (long uncomfortable pause)...would be about basically taking over, and the government running all of your companies."
Howard Dean on CNBC, " I think we've had quite enough capitalism in the last eight year, I think we need some regulation now."
Obama, "So today my administration is proposing a sweeping overhaul of the financial regulatory system. A transformation on a scale not seen since after the Great Depression."
Perhaps it was William Ayers who said it best while at an even in 2006, "To evaporate the point, down with capitalism."
President Obama's Science Czar: John Holdren; " The need for de-development presents our economist with a major challenge. They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, is a decent life is to be provided for every human being."
Cass Sunstein, Regulatory Czar, "Without taxes there would be no liberty. Without taxes there would be no prosperity. Without taxes, few of us would have any assets worth defending. (It is) a dim fiction that some people enjoy an exercise their right without placing any burden whatsoever on the public fiscal...there is no liberty without dependency. That is why we should celebrate tax day."

Why would you put the head of the NY Fed into the hands of the former AFL-CIO Labor Union CEO?
Moore: Why? Because Obama owes his election to the unions. There are now union people in all areas of the government and now they are dealing with our money
Laffer: This guy is making Econ 101 mistakes.
We found out today that GE CEO Jeff Immelt is a member of the NY Fed Board of Directors
Moore: I believe that when you mix big government and big business, bad things happen. Because what you get is government feeding the companies.

Reasonable Questions for Unreasonable Times
Whats the rush with these bills? Why can't we vet people and policies?
What does the President really believe in?
Michlle Malkin, Fox NEws Contributor
Malkin: Reclaiming Revolution, a book by STORM. Self published history of this group standing to gether to organize a revolution movement, retrospective of what they did and when they disbanded. Parrallels betweent he way this netwrork and ACORN and SEIU operates. Van Jones was a founding members of STORM.
Malkin: You could only join by invitation only, they did better vetting than the Obama admin. What happened was that many members started their own group because they didn't get along. We don't know who the shadowy founders were but we do know the funders are of some of those other groups.
STORM on 9/11, Reclaiming Revolution, pg 47, "The Vigil was to be an expression of solidarity with Arab- and Muslim Americans and of morning for the dead in New York and Washington DC as well as the victims of the US imperialism about the world. The vigil, held in Oakland's snow park, drew hundreds of people. There STORM members articulated a strong anti0imperialist line that resonated with everyday people there."
STORM on MAO, Reclaiming Revolution, pg 51, "Storm was never formally a 'marxist-leninist' oranization, and we never has a systematic marzist theoretical framework. But we did have a poliical commitment to the fundamental ideas of marxism-leninism. We upheld the marxist critique of capitalist explotaiton, We agree with Lenin's analysis of the state and party and we found inspiration and guidance int eh insurgent revolutionary stategies developed by third world revolutionries like Mao Tse-Tung and Amilcar Cabral."
