Chick Chat: Thoughts on Different Topics
Lets start the day off with some statistics...ahh the sweet sound of dropping poll numbers for the Obama/Pelosi/Reid administration. The great pleasure I derive from this stems not from seeing them fail, but seeing a possibility of hope for this country.
Not change, but hope that we wont get ourselves so deeply into the socialist agenda that we can't crawl our way our during my lifetime.
According to Rasmussen...
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Polls for Saturday shows that 33% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. 38% Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -5"
"71% of U.S. voters say President Obama's policies have increased the size of the federal deficit"
"54% of Americans oppose any further funding of the federal 'cash for clunkers' program"
..................................................................................
Sonia Sotomayor was just confirmed and I can't begin to say how much I could care less that she is a Hispanic woman. It is so frustrating that people keep getting these important and influential jobs simply because they are yellow, blue, green, Martians, Atlantis Merpeople. Who said that being politically correct was more important than picking the BEST person for the job?? Whoever that person is should be locked away in a solitary room where their crazy jabbering can't affect this country anymore!
Regardless of what Sotomayors views are, I just find it utterly ridiculous that she was appointed because it was the politically correct thing to do---Washington doesn't do anything else that is 'politically' correct.
I am going to say now, I just hope that the next time Obama gets to appoint a Supreme Court Justice, the Republicans have enough power to do something about it.
Sidenote: Did you know Sotomayor is NOT the first Hispanic nominated for the position? Bush nominated a Hispanic, Miguel Estrada, and he was butchered by the liberals.

On to my favorite topic lately- health care reform. I was reading an article about Senior Citizens and Health Care Reform and it is frightening how these little hidden provisions could seriously alter the lives of so many Americans. Lets face it, the baby boomers are upon us and the health care costs are going to be astronomical. So here is an easy solution, lets just not.
Not care for the sick, not worry about trying to prolong the lives of those that can't be useful to society because, well, darn we won't miss them a whole lot anyways. Whether they die in 5 years of 5 days it doesn't make a huge difference they are dying anyways.
Now this is obviously an extreme point of view and I am being beyond sarcastic to make the simple point that-- No we cannot decide for anyone, regardless of age, what their medical care will look like. There is a provision in the health care bill for "end-of-life consultations"! They are claiming this is a financial move because those those who discuss there end of life options apparenlty spend less in the hospital. Now I'm wondering, do they spend less because they fight less? Does talking about your end of life options resign you to die? A Harvard study quoted a $1100 savings per final week of life for those patients that had these conversations and that they "typically did not live longer if they received intensive care."
What I want to know is, if you had a loved one dying in the hospital, wouldn't you want them to fight for every single moment? Those last moments are often the most terrible and yet loving minutes of the process, but they are the moments that you never forget...if you can claim them. I would like to claim those moments when my parents are leaving me, and no government organization should take those away from me. I would pay $11,000 for a moment to say goodbye.
Apathy wont get you those moments. Take the time to go to the Townhall meetings. Use 30 minutes of every day reading articles, listening to the radio or watching the news.

Obama is claiming that the worst is behind us and that he has saved the US economy (and he is trying to use that as selling point for health care--beware!!) but that is simply not true. If you look at unemployment it seems to simply have steadied. Instead of loosing 443,000 jobs we lost 247,000 jobs. Well isnt that dandy! Unemployment also seems to have dropped. YAY! Rejoice! Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!
...hold on a second.
Lets talk for a moment about those statistics. Just because less people are loosing their jobs doesn't mean that they are in any less trouble. Unemployment percentages are dropping because people have either stopped looking for jobs or are working part time or have been unemployed for so long that they are no longer able to collect unemployment.
Now I don't understand real well how all that works but I do know there are some serious flaws with the way they count all these things. Take me for example. Recent college graduate who hasn
t been able to find steady work for a year. Am I included in statistics? Of course not!
There are so many who are not accounted for that of course it seems like that the economy is "stabilizing". Because they are ignoring the real problem and instead trying to put us, I should say, he is trying to put himself in a position of savior!

Ex-KGB Agent Video
I received a fwd a while back that was really eye opening. It provided a link to an interview with an Ex-KGB agent who talks about the plans the USSR had/has for a "world-wide communist network" used to "morally destabilize a country for a generation and then introduce a big-brother welfare state as an answer to their idealist liberal dreams"
Its really frightening how all the things he talks about are so applicable to our modern day society.

If this is true...YIKES!
I have no idea if this is true or not but I really wouldn't be suprised if it was...No wonder our country is going down the drain so quickly.
A DC airport ticket agent offers some examples of 'why' our country is in trouble!
1. I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman (Carol Shea-Porter) ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. (On an airplane!)
2. I got a call from a Kansas Congressman's (Moore) staffer (Howard Bauleke), who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information, and then he interrupted me with, ''I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts .''
Without trying to make him look stupid, I calmly explained, ''Cape Cod is in Massachusetts , Capetown is in Africa ''
his response -- click.
3. A senior Vermont Congressman (Bernie Sanders) called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando .. He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried t o explain that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state.
He replied, 'don't lie to me, I looked on the map and Florida is a very thin state!'' (OMG)
4. I got a call from a lawmaker's wife (Landra Reid) who asked, ''Is it possible to see England from Canada ?''
I said, ''No.''
She said, ''But they look so close on the map.'' (OMG, again!)
5. An aide for a cabinet member (Janet Napolitano) once called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas . I pulled up the reservation and noticed he had only a 1-hour layover in Dallas . When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said, ''I heard Dallas was a big airport, and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time.'' (Aghhhh)
6. An Illinois Congresswoman (Jan Schakowsky) called last week. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:30 a.m., and got to Chicago at8:33 a.m.
I explained that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois , but she couldn't understand the concept of time zones. Finally, I told her the plane went fast, and she bought that.
7. A New York lawmaker, (Jerrold Nadler) called and asked, ''Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?'' I said, 'No, why do you ask?'
he replied, ''Well, when I checked in with the airline they put a tag on my luggage that said (FAT), and I'm overweight. I think that's very rude!''
After putting him on hold for a minute, while I looked into it. (I was dying laughing). I came back and explained the city code for Fresno , Ca. is (FAT - Fresno Air Terminal), and the airline was just putting a destination tag on his luggage.
8. A Senator John Kerry aide (Lindsay Ross) called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii . After going over all the cost info, she asked, ''Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii ?''
9. I just got off the phone with a freshman Congressman, Bobby Bright (D) from Alaska who asked, ''How do I know which plane to get on?''
I asked him what exactly he meant, to which he replied, ''I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.''
10. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D) called and said, ''I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola , Florida . Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?''
I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola , FL on a commuter plane.
She said, ''Yeah, whatever, smarty!''
11. Mary Landrieu (D) La. Senator called and had a question about the documents she needed in order to fly to China . After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded her that she needed a visa. 'Oh, no I don't. I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those.''
I double checked and sure enough, her stay required a visa. When I told her this she said, ''Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!''
12. A New Jersey Congressman (John Adler) called to make reservations, ''I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York ..''
I was at a loss for words. Finally, I said, ''Are you sure that's the name of the town?''
'Yes, what flights do you have?'' replied the man.
After some searching, I came back with, ''I'm sorry, sir, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a rhino anywhere."
''The man retorted, ''Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!''
So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, ''You don't mean Buffalo , do you?''
The reply? ''Whatever! I knew it was a big animal.''
Now you know why the Government is in the shape that it's in!
Could anyone be this DUMB?

Looking Back: Some Facts about the Election
Here is some information I had lying around in my inbox.
....................................................................................................................................................
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the Presidential election:
Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds:
"In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.
Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Chick Chat: Townhall Control
I ran out today for an errand and caught about 10 minutes of the Schnitt Show on Talk Radio. It was a guest host so I didn't get to listen to the wonderful sarcasm of the usual host, but what did catch my attention was a report about town hall meetings.
In Tampa there was a town hall meeting where anti-health care reformers (who were there an hour early) were not allowed to enter while union workers were walking in freely and having pre-made signs given to them so that they could hold them up while sitting in their reserved seating section. Along with the posters they were given dum dum lollipops so that they could wave them any conservative that manged to sneak there way in to talk. Of course you won't hear about this in the mainstream media, most of these details came from a woman who snuck in super early with the pretense of being pro-health care reform.
All I can say is, for democracy's sake! What has happened to our freedom of speech. I was under the impression that these town hall meetings were for voicing opinions and expressing thoughts about obamacare from multiple viewpoints. Unfortunately it seems that it is all about the Democrats controlling the discussion in their favor! (Not to mention making the anti-obamacare crew seem like complete and utter crazies!)
I can't decided if the democrats are scared or just really that warped in the brain to think that all these people expressing concern about health care are "ultra conservatives", "right-wing radicals", "mobs of Nazi-era adherents"etc. Now I'm not to great with math, but lets look back here for a moment....... back in the Fall, Obama won with 52% of the popular vote. Now 86% of Americans are happy with their health care and feel threatened by a public option. By my calculation that would mean that 34% of Obama supporters are ultra conservative right wing radical mobs of Nazi-era adherents. A+B=C, B-C=A right? Well something like that! (I'm sure Mrs. Benson would have something to say about that...)
Yet another alarming meeting took place just a few days ago. AARP had a meeting with its members about the health care reform and people were so outraged and expressing such dissatisfaction with AARP's stance that they simply decided to cancel the meeting. (Click here for video) I am so proud of all those that stayed on and continued the meeting without the AARP representatives. They calmly discussed the health care issues, shared stories and ultimately tips on how to not support AARP.
Just so we are clear on this, for all those youngsters out there, who like me believed AARP was an insurance/event organizer for older people , you're wrong!!! AARP is a lobbying group and very often, lobby's for anti-elderly things. Dale Van Atta from the LA Times (not exactly a conservative newspaper) wrote that "AARP does unauthorized lobbying for its membership, and lobbies against the best interests of its membership. Van Atta says that by lobbying Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act, AARP leaders betrayed the membership."
Now the Tampa and AARP meetings weren't even that bad compared to what happened in St. Louis. At another town hall meeting in St. Louis a black man was standing outside passing out Don't Tread on Me Flags when a union worker (note: all union workers were identified bc of their shirts) came up and started calling him "racial" names. (Wonder what Obama would say about that?) He then proceed to punch him and along with several other union workers proceeded to beat the guy up.
Now, they are claiming that the conservatives are the mobs and disrupting these town hall meetings but its simply not true--just like so many other things. But what can we do when the people in charge are making themselves the martyrs? What can we do when the leaders are blatantly lying, manipulating and corrupting public opinion for personal gain?
Both of the meetings featured people from both sides of the aisle trying to express themselves some in more peaceful ways than others. I would call it unfortunate that so many "anti" voices were silenced but in reality it is more than unfortunate, it is alarming! If our government is trying to silencing the outcries of our people then the end is not near, it is here.
This battle about health has quickly turned into a first amendment nightmare. Now, as an outraged American citizen whose grandparents, parents, nephews, future children etc. will be adversely affected by this socialist health care scheme I can only ignore these damaging tactics the Democrat's are using. Whether they are purposely trying to draw attention to another matter or are simply praying that the anti-obamacare crowd gets intimidated....we must continue on as a united front. We must stay on topic, be peaceful, more mindful and clever than the corruption that threatens our nation everyday now.

Recess Rally! Miami, FL
The South Florida Conservatives sent out this email about the Recess Rally in Miami and I am super excited for another event. There is really nothing like getting together with like minded people and peacefully protesting.
"Hello Everybody,
With the spectre of universal health care hanging over all our heads, it is time for us to take action as one loud and mighty voice. We scored a small victory when congress adjourned without passing this bill, however we cannot rest for a moment. We must apply more pressure than ever to discourage shady tactics for passing this catastrophic legislation. Senator Chuck Schumer has stated Democrats are ready invoke shady tactics to ram this through by using the budget reconciliation procedure.
We are very proud to follow the lead of Michelle Malkin by holding this:
"Recess Rally" Tea Party against ObamaCare...
We and hundreds of cities across the United States will gather in opposition on Saturday, August 22nd @ 4:00 pm. We will gather at the intersection of 87th Avenue and SW 40th St (Bird Rd). Let's save President Obama some valuable time. Bring your creative, patriotic and respectful posters with your email address at the bottom. Let's show the president just how "fishy" we think his health care plan really is.
I'm very proud to announce that we will have a very special guest performing at our tea party. You may have heard of Roly O, he sent Glenn Beck a very inspirational song called "Remember Independence". Glenn was so struck by it, he featured him on his radio and cable show.
For the first time, we will be streaming the event and Roly O's music live via the internet.
The goal this tea party is to bring three friends along with you to the event. This can be the best tea party yet, but it's success depends on your participation. I have included the event flyer for you to distribute accordingly. God bless you and God bless our Republic.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!
Today I found out that the White House posted a request for people to report any "fishy activity" to the White House so they could "keep track of the disinformation floating out there"...aka so they could control our Health Care Discussion. This is so wildly insane to me! For those of you that don't know the White House isn't allowed to collect public information like that...combine that with the fact that they are walking the tightrope of first amendment rights violation and we have some major Big Brother issues! (And I'm not talking about a reality show here!)

So I start this today with no real hopes of people reading my rants and postings but rather with the hope that I can express the frustration that I feel everyday as I watch the news, listen to the radio, read articles online etc. I want to have a place to chronicle the information that I am encountering.
If people consider me a crazy right wing conservative nut job well then, I'm doing my job. I will not let this amazing country be ruined without doing what I can to stop this rapid progression into socialism. I was never built (emotionally or physically) to be in the army, navy, marines... but that doesn't mean that I will let this country go down in flames without putting up a good fight.
I hope there is just one person out there that stumbles upon this insignificant blog and realizes that there can no longer be apathy in the American public, from our youth to our elderly and all those in between. (by the way I'm 23) This is my personal journey against the people who want to "fundamentally change" our nation...

Learn a Little Bit about Me, My Views and My Hopes
Check out the Chick Chats to find out what I'm thinking...
"Living life with the liberty to pursue happiness"
Bio:
I'm young, however, I have an old soul. I've always been more reasonable than most people my age. I learned the value of money at a young age & realized that taking personal responsibility was more important than blaming/relying on others.
I spent 4 years being influenced by professors at a very liberal college. I learned more than liberal viewpoints while sitting in classrooms. I was taught how to filter, decipher & decide what to believe.
I'm Hispanic, although, I'm more specifically Cuban. Cuba was more than a country torn apart by a communist regime, it was families, business, lives that were destroyed by government control. My family was not left unaffected.
I shouldn't believe the things I do. I shouldn't believe in minimal government control. I shouldn't believe in fiscal conservatism, let alone social conservatism. Take one look at my background & statistically I shouldn't believe in anything that has the word conservative near, on, behind or around it.
But as a little girl I was always interested in the past. I would beg my parents to take me to Washington DC, Monticello, Mt Vernon, Williamsburg and St.Augustine, instead of Disney World. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I was strangely obsessed with history as a child, because I wasn't. I did love history, but the thing I was really obsessed with was lives. I wanted to gather information on what life was like!
I wanted to know what life was like back when the basic ideas of this country were being formed. Life when Great Britain was oppressing people's liberties. Life when slavery was legal. Life when women were considered subservient minds. Life when people could pack up all their things into a wagon and travel thousands of miles for a fresh start. Life, good and bad, was what I was interested in.
Although I was interested in the lives of Americans that came before me, I was never interested in government. I never truly considered the influence government and politics had over all the other aspects of life. I was apathetic to the impact government had in the past and therefore apathetic to the impact it was having in my life.
It has taken me a long time to stop being apathetic and realize that I had no true understanding of our past without looking at the government's role. And without an understand of our past we have no true understanding of our future.
It would have been so easy if I would have had the constitution to study history and become a professor. For some reason, I never had the persistence to become particularly well-versed in any specific era. However, what I have come to realize is that I've gain an understanding and deep appreciation for the struggles of America, our Lady Liberty.
She has gone through a lot in past few hundred years.
Lady Liberty has stood strong against the winds of change many times over and I pray that she has no cracks of weakness now as the most critical gusts face her dead on.
I hope that others can take the time to stop being apathetic too. I hope that we can come together as a people and realize that we are Lady Liberty and without us...without all of us standing strong together for our fundamental rights we will have no recognizable future.
