Bakers Dozen of Anit-Dem/Obama/Liberal Laughs

One:

A man falls off a boat and ends up on an island After a lot of walking he comes across a shop that specializes in brains.

Artists' Brains $9/oz
Philosophers' Brains $12/oz
Scientists' Brains $15/oz
Republican's Brains $19/oz
Democrats' Brains $2,000/oz.

After the man reads the prices, he says, "Wow those democrat brains must be popular." The shop owner says, "Are you kidding me? Do you know how many Democrats you have to kill to get 1 ounce of brains?!?

Two:

Three:
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, ‘Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.’

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, ‘You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.’

She rolled her eyes and said, ‘You must be a Republican.’

‘I am,’ replied the man. ‘How did you know?’

‘Well,’ answered the balloonist, ‘everything you told me is technically correct , but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me.’

The man smiled and responded, ‘You must be a Democrat.’

‘I am,’ replied the balloonist. ‘How did you know?’

‘Well,’ said the man, ‘you don’t know where you are or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it’s my fault.’

Four:
Why should Democrats be buried 100 feet down?
Because deep down they are really good people.

Five:
A woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed to be far to qualified for the job. The foreman frowned and said, "I have to ask you this; "Have you had any acutal experience in picking lemons?" "Well, as a matter of fact, I have!" she replied. "I've been divorced three times, owned 2 Plymouths, and I voted for Obama."

Six:

Seven:

President Obama promised his wife he would take her to a Broadway Show. When they were leaving the theater he turned to Michelle and said, "I've never seen a better show! They said their lines on stage for THREE HOURS and I never even saw their teleprompters."

Eight:
Who was the first liberal Democrat?
Answer -Christopher Columbus. He left not knowing where he was going, got there not knowing where he was, left there not knowing where he’d been and did it all on borrowed money.

Nine:

Ten:
How many liberals does it take to change a light Bulb?
At least ten, as they will need to have a discussion about whether or not the light bulb exists. Even if they can agree upon the existence of the light bulb they still may not change it to keep from alienating those who might use other forms of light.

Eleven:
What happens when you cross a pig with a Democrat?
Nothing, there are some things that a pig just won't do.

Twelve:
When the Obama administration was deciding on what issues to address they hired a company to poll American's about several issues. When the company reported back they found that when asking people who live in Florida whether they thought illegal immigration is a serious problem:
  • 29% of respondents answered: “Yes, it is a serious problem.”
  • 71% of respondents answered: “No es una problema seriosa.”

Thirteen:
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I said to him, 'Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break'? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a 'Nazi.' He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a 'doughnut eating Gestapo.' He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him the more tickets he wrote. Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said, 'Obama in '08 .' I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's important to my health.

...............................................

You would be suprised how hard it is to find good jokes that are anti-liberal, anti-obama, anti-democrat....but I think I complied some good ones here. And to any anti-obama democrat whose out there reading this, take no offense!

Taylor Swift's Reaction to Kanye on the View: ZoNation Takes On Hollywood Racists

Taylor Swift talks about her reaction to Kanye's actions at the VMA's. Surprise Surprise, Kanye has not reached out to Taylor Swift to apologize like he claimed he would. Interesting to note, Whoopie Goldberg asks no questions and at the end goes "Well, hopefully if Kanye is watching, he'll know what to do.

Got to love the way that Taylor Swift's has handled of this whole thing!!

Oh and question, since when is that Kate Gosselin lady on the View? Doesn't she have like 87 kids to take care of at home??

.........................................

Alfonso Racheal Discuss' the Hollywood crowds racist tendencies with comdey and interesting videos.

Chick Chat: The View Makes Me Question the African-American Community

With all this talk of racism I feel like I"m going to be attacked by at least some one for the things I am about to discuss/say. Yet, I have to admit that I don't care, they are my thoughts on a matter that should be open to discussion. By keeping race, racism in this don't ask, don't tell, lock down, taboo container we are only hurting and perpetuatin the issue.

On YouTube there is a video of Sherri Shepherd on The View discussing the election of Barack Obama. She get's very emotional and starts to talk about her son. Here is the basic idea of what she said...."I sat by my sons bed, and we've always been, people of color, we've always had these limitation on us....to look at my son and say, no limitation on you, its an extraordinary day for me to be able to tell my son..."

What Sherri said, I feel like I've heard the same thing from many others in the African-American community. I totally respect and can appreciate the historic nature of this election but I am just sincerely confused about this whole situation. I had a few questions come to mind...

Why is it that so much of this "we can do anything now" attitude is just now coming to light in the Africa American community?
Why is this election the "turning point" for black advancement?
Why hasn't the black community been able to rally this "success IS possible regardless of color" attitude before?

I just don't understand why the African American community wasn't able to do these thing before. To me it seems like they have held onto these prejudices as almost a safety blanket and perpetuated that to each generation, instead of trying to eradicate this "woe is me" attitude.

I'm Hispanic, there had obviously never been a Hispanic president, but I still feel that I can accomplish anything. When I was going to college in Pennsylvania, at a predominantly Anglo school, I didn't find myself ever thinking, "Oh, I don't think I'll do this because I'm different from them." I never look at things and say, oh I'm a different color or ethnicity and people will look/judge/accept me differently so I'm not going to do it.

I'm sincerely curious and confused about this continuous self perpetuated glass ceiling. I do understand that there is a degree of difficulty for the black community that doesn't exist for others. But in the past 40, almost 50 years of equality, why hasn't one generation stood up and taken that basic idea of "We are not going to be defined by the color of our skin", and added to that, "we are not going to rely on that defiance as an explanation, good or bad, for our status. My failure or success' aren't based on the color of my skin but on me, my work ethic and my persistence."

Is this the generation that will come to that realization?
Did it really take a half white black man getting all the way to the White House to get an entire community to realize that the American Dream is possible?
How many black communities are plagued with teenage pregnancy, single parent households, abuse, poverty, drug and alcohol problems, both selling and using?

There was a point in history where the black man was completley judged on the color of his skin. But is that really the case anymore? When will the African American community see that the girl getting pregnant, the woman raising her child by herself, the man emotionally or physically hurting a woman, the welfare checks instead of paycheck, the buying and selling of illegal substances, is not the "white man" fault anymore...when will they accept responsibility for their community instead of using these things as an crutch??

I am in no way trying to antagonize any group or be labeled a racist in any measure. I'm just trying to understand the logic, reasoning behind this generationally perpetuated glass ceiling.

Maxine Water's Want to Hear Conservatives "Define Themselves"

Well, we've already had Maxine Water's Define Herself but here goes....

Maxine Water's once again sticks her foot in her mouth when asked about Carter's race statement. She talks about her approval of Joe Wilson being reprimand then goes on to say....

"What I've been interested in is hearing from those people who everyone is referring to. The people on the mall in their rally. What are they saying? whats on their mind? Are they just angry at the President's policies or something else?
  • Obviously Maxine Water's doesn't turn on Fox News or do any research online because we've been saying what we disagree with from the very beginning. Spending, big government, socialism, control...then again maybe she knows a little too much about that (refer to video below)
"What I'm surprised about is that not enough our journalist are in the malls talking to the very people that the questions have been raised about. Its not enough for African Americans to say what they think, what they suspect."
  • I actually agree with her on this sentiment. Why aren't there more journalist's out there covering these stories....and why is the black community assuming that we're racist. A poll came out today that found that 61% of African American's polled think this is racially driven. But I do want to point out that Carter is white, and he pulled the race card, so its not just blacks playing that. BUT then again I don't know if I would want the media to go out there and find the "conservatives" because you know they would find the most radical one out there.
"Let's hear from the people. I think that if you put the microphones in front of them, if you do the interviews, they'll tell you what they believe, and what they think. It will come out. I think its very important for them to define themselves. "
  • Well Maxine Water's you have Defined yourself very well. Watch the video below and remind yourself about the slip of the tongue that she has with a microphone in front of her. What do you think she believes??
    "Socialist...um um"

Pelosi Chokes Up Warning Against Political "Violence": UPDATED

What she says:
“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw … I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and … I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made.”- Pelosi

What she means:
I'm concerned that all this information is going to affect how much power I have, so why don't you all calm down and focus your energy on drinking the Kool Aid...

.......................................................

UPDATE

The House Republicans' top campaign chief strongly denounced Speaker Nancy Pelosi's comments that appeared to question whether today's angry conservative protests were similar to anti-gay rallies in the late 1970s that preceded the assassination of two San Francisco political leaders.

Rep. Pete Sessions (Texas), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Pelosi crossed the line when she related the rhetoric of anti-gay protesters in San Francisco in 1978 -- the year Harvey Milk, the first openly gay member of the city's board of supervisors, and his political ally, Mayor George Moscone, were killed by former supervisor Dan White -- to that of contemporary conservatives while answering a question about the protests against President Obama's health-care proposals.

"The Speaker is now likening genuine opposition to assassination. Such insulting rhetoric not only undermines the credibility of her office, but it underscores the desperate attempt by her party to divert attention away from a failing agenda," Sessions said in a statement. "During one of the most important policy debates of our time, the American people have been completely abandoned by those elected representatives under her control. Voters are justifiably frustrated with Washington, and the Speaker's verbal assault on voters accomplishes nothing other than furthering her reputation for being wildly out of touch with the American people."

San Diego ACORN Scandal

House Votes to Defund ACORN

WASHINGTON — The House has voted to deny all federal funding for ACORN, the community organizing group that has been caught up in several scandals.

The House action came several days after the Senate took a similar vote to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN.

Republicans, long critics of the liberal-leaning group that advocates for the poor, led the effort to cut off all federal funds.

California Republican Darrell Issa, who sponsored the measure in the House, says the "scandal surrounding the criminal activities of ACORN have called into question their role in all aspects of government."

The vote, on a provision attached to a student aid bill, was 345-75. All 75 no votes were Democrats.

Fringe News, aka CNN/MSNBC on ACORN Scandals

CNN:

Watch her try to talk her way out of the video! Hilarious talking points and ridiculous avoidance of questions. CNN interview is actually putting it to her a bit.

"How much money do you receive on average per year from the federal government?"
"On average probably around $2 million dollars across the board" -Bertha Lewis, CEO
Lets see now, according to reports, ACORN has received (more than) $53 million dollars since 1994. That's $53 million in 16 years...hmm lets do that math...cal-cu-la-ting...that's approx 3.4 million dollars a year. Wow, Lewis, that's a little more than you calculated...Are you trying to downplay something?

MSNBC:

They attempt to address the "seemingly daming" videos
Nice! Right off the bat let's put a little doubt on the validity of these videos...clever clever.

"Acorn has suspended or fired all workers involved except the San Bernandino woman who said she was playing along...but conservatives are having a field day"
Well those damn conservatives! How dare they demand more answers. We've already brushed all the crazies off, what else to they want, actually accountabilty??

"Political Analyst say this is largely driven by conservatives longstanding distaste for ACORN."
Who are these political analyst? The ivy league interns you have sitting in the back room clicking away on Google? I remember college, we analyzed plenty of things.

..................................................................

(BEST FOR LAST ha!)

"Welcome back, the GOP is ramping up their campaign against the anti-poverty group ACORN...."
Awwww, who wants to go against some organization that is fighting poverty! Those terrible Republicans! Why won't they leave these poor people alone! I mean they fired the crazy people, well except for the San Bernandino lady who was playing along with the hidden cameras, she's cool.

After saying that the census cut ties and Senate cut housing funds, he goes on to say "but that is not enough for Republicans, they don't want the group to get any kind of federal funding.
Gasp!! You mean, NO federal funding for this amazing, totally legitimate, "anti-poverty" squeeky clean group of good Samaritans! NEVER! Bad GOP!

" I know whats going on here, the conservatives just don't want ACORN to be a part of anything. Where was their outrage when Halliburton was overcharging the government and electrocuting American soldiers?"
Well, we're here now and of course we wouldn't want ACORN to be a part of anything. What is this guy smoking? There are now videos from several different offices that promote child prostitution, illegal sex trade, tax evasion, to name a few, do you want your taxes going to fund them?

"Now thats no excuse for ACORN problems, I'm not here to defend them, they need to fix thier problems fast, but REPUBLICANS are trying to broad brush this and its not that simple."
Actually it is that simple. ACORN needs to be investigated by an outside sources who is willing to get deep into the dirt of the dirt of the dirt of ACORN. Did I mention there would be a lot of dirt?

{to CEO}"Do you run an honest organization? Because the Conservatives out there are saying that everything about ACORN is dishonest?"
"Well first off, just because you repeat a lie, over and over again, doesn't make it true."
Did that count for Mickey Mouse's registration to vote? Here is something truthful for you CEO-boss-lady, just because you deny something over and over again doesn't make it go away.

"We've been running this organizing since 40 years."
Hehe, am I allowed to laugh at your poor grammar skills or is that racist?

{to CEO}"What do you say about the video tapes?"
Well first of all, for Fox and the Right Wing to have to stoop to a made up scenario is one thing, but! as you know and as I've said over and over again, those people were reprehensible...blah blah."
Gasp! How dare anyone try and uncover the truth behind a liberal organization. Damn those new mediums that show these completely fabricated, totally staged videos...oh and we fired those reprehensible people that they doctored.

"Let me say one thing, not one shred of paper kicked in because our quality control does kick in."
So you see, we aren't responsible for anything that is undocumented. We're totally guiltless and ignorant about what our employees are telling the public.

{to CEO} "...this is why I'm doing this story because a U.S. Senator has gone on record saying your whole organization is corrupt."
"Listen, this goes, waaay back, all the way back to the Bush Administration, a couple weeks ago we saw Karl Roves emails specifically targeting us and then firing U.S. attorney's because they wouldn't combat and do a political conviction against us."
Let me show you how these people made up these lies. Watch its easy! Not working? Ok well, its the Bush administrations fault that we were flagged earlier, we thought we were going to get away with it now because we have a brother in the House but,...oh wait, was that racist??

"We compete for those dollars, we're effective, and were just the target of this right wing republican attempt..."
Compete by seeing who can come up with the most creative fake name for voter registrations? No no, must be who can come up with the most names for the fake voter registrations.
Oh and can I mention that there were only 7 Democrats and 0 Republicans that voted to have you keep your money. But it's all the Republican's doing. Like we could pass anything w/o Dem support in this off balance government.

White House Archiving Social Networking Sites

The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users.

Courtesy of Fox News

The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet, the Washington Times reported.

Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, said the White House signaled that it would insist on open dealings with Internet users and, in fact, should feel obliged to disclose that it is collecting such information.

"The White House has not been adequately transparent, particularly on how it makes use of new social media techniques, such as this example," he said.

Defenders of the White House actions said the Presidential Records Act requires that the administration gather the information and that it was justified in taking the additional step of asking a private contractor to "crawl and archive" all such material. Nicholas Shapiro, a White House spokesman, declined to say when the practice began or how much the new contract would cost.

Susan Cooper, a spokeswoman for National Archives and Records Administration, said the presidential records law applies to "social media" and to public comments "received by the president or immediate staff."

.........................................................................

NLPC has uncovered a plan by the White House New Media operation to hire a technology vendor to conduct a massive, secret effort to harvest personal information on millions of Americans from social networking websites.

The information to be captured includes comments, tag lines, emails, audio, and video. The targeted sites include Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr and others – any space where the White House “maintains a presence.”

In the course of investigating procurement by the White House New Media office, NLPC discovered a 51-page solicitation of bids that was filed on Friday, August 21, 2009. Filed as Solicitation # WHO-S-09-0003, it is posted at FedBizzOps.com. Click here to download a 51-page pdf of the solicitation.

While the solicitation specifies a 12-month contract, it allows for seven one-year extensions. It specifies no dollar cap. Other troubling issues include:

extremely broad secrecy terms preventing the vendor from disclosing to the public or the media what information is being captured and archived (page 7, “Restriction Against Disclosure”)

wholesale capturing of comments by non-White House staff on publicly accessible sites

capturing of content of any type (text, graphics, audio, or video)

capturing of comments by both Obama critics and supporters, with no restriction as to how the White House would use the information.

This is the third controversy involving the White House internet operations in less than a month. First, Obama’s New Media operation asked supporters to send information about critics of the White House health care effort to a White House email. This provoked a storm of criticism and the White House retreated. Then large number of people complained of getting email spam from the White House supporting the President’s health care position. Again the White House was forced to back down.

Now the same people at the White House are at it again with an ambitious plan to harvest huge amounts of information from the web and specifically social networking sites.

Given the White House’s recent abuse of its New Media operations, this huge, new secretive program is yet another sign that this Administration is at best indifferent to privacy rights and at worst prepared to violate civil liberties for political purposes.

Perhaps anticipating negative reaction to the invasiveness of the plan, a justification is provided in a Q&A. section of the solicitation. Question #9 reads:

The Presidential Records Act does not require the storage or archiving of non-EOP content, as such is there a specific reason as to why the content provided on EOP related websites in the form of comments is included in these archiving procedures?

Answer: The PRA includes in its definition of presidential records content ―received by PRA components and personnel. Out of an abundance of caution, we are treating comments made by non-PRA personnel on sites on which a PRA component has a presence as presidential records, requiring them to be captured or sampled.

Of course, this interpretation of the Presidential Records Act is so expansive that virtually any communication mentioning the president or the Administration could become subject to collection and archiving under the Act. This is not out of an “abundance of caution,” but out of an over-abundance of power. President Obama should make sure that this plan goes no further.

11 Ways Baucus Plan Is Just New Path to Government Takeover of Health Care

From Jim DeMint's (R-SC) website:

The chairman’s health care proposal (known as the "chairman's mark") that was released by Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) in advance of next week’s Finance Committee Markup is just more of the same big government policies that have been proposed by this Congress and this administration for months. The chairman’s rehashed proposal does nothing to increase Americans’ access to affordable health care coverage. In fact, the Baucus plan includes several devastating provisions that hurt the ability of millions of Americans to keep the coverage they currently have (and like).

Moreover, the combination of tax increases, penalties, new government health care programs, increased fees on private health care entities, and destruction of current health care coverage products will force this nation into the grip of a government-run health care system.

Chairman Baucus’ proposal:
  1. Creates FANNIE MED Health Insurance Entities That Will Lead to Government Takeover: This bill uses taxpayer dollars to subsidize cooperative health insurance agreements that will be overseen and regulated by federal bureaucrats and, overtime, could be bailed out by taxpayers. As Majority Leader Reid has said himself, this is simply the “public option” by another name, and is nothing more than a new path to a government takeover of health care. Like the public option, taxpayer-subsidized co-ops will force millions of Americans out of their current plans and into government-regulated care. This nation has seen a similar model in our government-run mortgage market and America has spoken out on this issue: no Fannie Med.

  2. Could DOUBLE Health Insurance Premiums for Millions of Americans: The chairman’s mark will effectively raise premiums for millions of Americans who purchase health insurance in the individual health marketplace. In fact, the Council for Affordable Health Insurance has indicated that the proposed combination of risk adjusted premiums, individual mandates, and guaranteed issue coverage could raise premiums as much as 95 percent in the individual market, impacting millions of Americans who purchase health insurance outside of their employer or as small business owners. This proposal not only destroys the ability of Americans to purchase health insurance they can afford, own and keep, but also violates the President’s campaign promise that every American would be able to “keep their health plan.”

  3. Regulates EVERY Americans’ Health Coverage, by PENALIZING Anyone Without a Government Approved Plan: The chairman’s mark will mandate that every American get health care coverage and, moreover, will define what benefits individuals must get to avoid government penalties on their income (as high as $3,800 per family) -- again, violating the president’s commitment to the American people to not raise taxes on Americans making below $250,000 per year.

  4. Does Little to Improve Competition Across State Lines: This bill does nothing to create a competitive national market in which uninsured Americans can choose from hundreds of health insurance plans in any state in the nation. Rather, the chairman’s mark allows states to build compacts for interstate purchasing -- an idea that does little to eliminate the big insurance industry’s hold on insurance commissioners who for years have blocked consumer-friendly, interstate competition.

  5. Expands a Broken, Bankrupt Entitlement Program: For the past several years, we have heard from states on the impact of Medicaid costs on state budgets. In fact, just this year, the federal government bailed states out in passing billions for Medicaid in the stimulus package to pay off states’ debt. Aside from the daunting fiscal impact on states, such an expansion would be a mistake because Medicaid does not provide high-quality health care. Yet, Sen. Baucus and his Democrat colleagues believe that adding millions more Americans to Medicaid should be considered health care “reform.”

  6. Taxes Health Care Benefits for Millions of Middle-Income Americans: The Baucus plan proposes to further tax health savings accounts and caps the benefits of flexible spending accounts -- impacting nearly 20 million Americans in the coming years. In addition, the Baucus plan proposes to tax comprehensive health insurance benefits that are valued at more than $8000 for the individual or $21,000 for families. Such a proposal will impact thousands of working Americans -- again, violating the president’s promise to not tax individuals making less than $250,000 per year.

  7. Increases Taxes on Small Businesses: The chairman’s mark places an annual penalty (per employee) if health coverage is not offered by an employer. Such a provision could deteriorate the employer market over time -- forcing individuals into a government run health care program -- as many employers might see the penalty as an opportunity to drop employees’ health care coverage since such a penalty is less than the average cost of employer-provided health benefits.

  8. Creates a New Government ‘Institute’ Similar to Bureaucracies in Other Nations Used to RATION Care: The chairman’s mark creates a new institute for comparative effectiveness research that could, ultimately, contribute to the denial of coverage for certain health care services. The chairman’s mark is careful in clarifying that, “prohibited from denying coverage based solely on a study conducted by the Institute,” however, it is never made clear that such denials could be made in consideration of the Institute’s research and conclusions. A similar bureaucracy in the United Kingdom has been used to ration health care.

  9. Contains NO Tort Reform, Protecting Trial Lawyers While Costing Patients Hundreds of Billions Each Year: The chairman‘s mark expresses the “Sense of the Senate” that health care reform “presents an opportunity” to address medical malpractice reform -- however, the proposal does nothing to truly curb the devastating impact defensive medicine has had on our nation’s health care system. Independent analysts have estimated that defensive medicine used as a result of frivolous lawsuits adds more than $200 billion in unnecessary expenses to the cost of health care each year.

  10. Negatively Impacts Seniors’ Ability to Access Medicare Advantage Programs: The Baucus plan makes adjustments to how Medicare Advantage plans are paid -- consequently impacting the current Medicare Advantage market and potentially shifting beneficiaries from their current plans. Again, this is a violation of the president’s campaign promise to not impact Americans’ current coverage.

  11. Creates New Government Bureaucracy to Oversee Medicare Reimbursements: The Baucus plan would establish a politically-appointed Medicare Commission that would develop and submit proposals to Congress that “would reduce Medicare spending.” While the chairman’s mark does make an attempt to limit the commission’s autonomy, it is important to note that the commission will act very much like a “Super MedPac” and will ultimately have the ability to impact provider reimbursements and appropriate category of services approved under Medicare.

Obama Called to Action by GOP

House GOP Urges President Obama to Defund and Break Federal Ties to ACRON
posed by GOP Leader Press Office on Sept 15th, 2009

Today House Republicans, led by Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH), are sending the following letter to President Obama asking him to use his authority to end all funding to and break all government ties with ACORN:

Dear Mr. President:

We write to you today in the wake of new reports of potentially criminal activity involving associates of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to respectfully request that you use your authority to publicly disclose and terminate all federal funding to ACORN and its affiliates. It is evident that ACORN is incapable of using federal funds in a manner that is consistent with the law. Immediate action is necessary to ensure that no additional tax dollars are directed to ACORN. Simply put, ACORN should not receive another penny of American taxpayers’ money.

Congressional pressure, coupled with the impact of recent media reports, prompted the U.S. Census Bureau on September 11 to end its partnership with ACORN. We support this decision by the Census Bureau, and believe it is vital that all other federal agencies with ties to ACORN follow the Census Bureau’s example by severing all ties to ACORN and its affiliates, whether those ties consist of partnerships or the awarding of federal funds, including federal funds distributed through state and local governments from federal block grants.

This is a matter of common sense and respect for taxpayer dollars. Last year, millions of Americans were outraged to learn their tax dollars were being used to subsidize an organization linked to multiple instances of voter registration fraud and other illicit activity. An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994, and has likely received substantially more indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants.

The Census Bureau has made the commendable decision to sever ties with ACORN, and it is now critical that all remaining federal entities with ties to ACORN do the same. We ask that you use your authority to ensure that all federal funding of ACORN is publicly disclosed and terminated immediately. To facilitate this effort, the Republican staff of the Oversight Committee has compiled a complete list of the corporations that form the ACORN Council, and we would be pleased to share it with you and members of your administration.

We thank you for your attention to this request.
