Chick Chat: A Message to My Generation

The greatest ignorance is to reject something you know nothing about. - H. Jackson Brown, Jr

Today I was with a friend of mine who is around my age. I asked her if she was going to the protest tomorrow and she told me that she would think about it if she knew what there was to protest about.

She used all the same excuses I've heard from the majority of young people I meet. I don't really care about politics. It doesn't interest or affect me that much if I'm informed or not. Well I have a message for you fellow Generation Y.

Wake up!

Wake up and take a look around you.

Stop saying it doesn't interest you.
Stop saying it doesn't affect you.

One day, not too far away, you will be very interested when it starts affecting you.

You will be interested the day you finally get to climb the corporate ladder, only to realize you are paying the majority to the government. The day you realize that you have no options about what you are paying for and who you are supporting with that money. You will be interested when you have to ration the things that you've never imagined going without. And no, I'm not talking about health care.

You will be interested when you get married and realize that the holy sacrament you've entered into is another way for the IRS to get a hefty contribution. You will be interested when you start a family some 5, 10, 15 years down the line and realize those precious little loved ones will still be paying your father debts when they have children.

You will be interested if, God forbid, some day you have a child born with a problem and they are denied the help you so desire for them. You will care when someone labels them a second class citizen.

You will be interested the day that you're children go to school and come back believing that our country isn't fundamentally good or founded on Judeo-Christian principles. You will care when they think that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry were evil corrupt men. You will take notice when a bad decision in your child's life can't be resolved because they've never had to take on personal responsibility.

You will care when your parents start to deteriorate and aren't provided with the care, comfort or compassion that they need and deserve.

You will care when you are no longer invincible to sickness, sadness, consequences...

Three things have happened at this point.

You have stopped reading because you are completely apathetic to what I am talking about, in which case there is no hope for you. You have read this and think that I am completely insane, in which case there is hope for you, perhaps just in the future. Or you have read this and think that there might be something to this waking up thing, in which case there is hope... for our country and for you.

Some of the things I have talked about are already happening. Some of them are very close to becoming a reality and others are not that unbelievable if you look at the direction that we are heading as a country. I have to tell you again fellow Generation Y.

Wake Up!

You can't afford to be apathetic.

Maybe if I say it again you will listen.

You're life can't afford for you to be apathetic.

Stop excusing yourself from the conversation that is going on around you because you can't take a moment from the keggers, martinis or club mixes. Stop listening to pop media and believing that they are giving you facts.

Jon Stewart is not news.

Perez Hilton is not news.

Wake up!

You can't afford to be apathetic, but you also can't afford to be ignorant. You can't afford to be ignorant to the truth, especially now. You can't afford to be idealistic or politically correct. You can't afford to think with the the crowd.
George MacDonald once said,
"The two pillars of 'political correctness' are: a) willful ignorance b) a steadfast refusal to face the truth."
Face the truth Gen Y and become informed. We cannot afford to be a politically correct, idealistic generation any more.

Every generation fights the "man". Every generation has waves of idealistic thinking that infiltrate the ranks. Every generation has those that fight for the individual causes and beliefs, "advancement" for supposed "political correctness". While others simply accept the issues they are given and bathe in apathy.

If we were smart, the really advanced generation we would realize that every generation eventually becomes the "man". Willful ignorance and apathy are consent. We will have to live with the consequences of the "advancements" that we are in the midst of making. Inevitably, apathetic generation upon apathetic generation forms a very different America. An America we will not recognize nor control.

We are fighting against our future.

The future of our aging parents. The future of our brothers, sisters our friends.
The future of our children.

We can't afford to fight against ourselves; we must wake up from our idealistic trance and fight for ourselves.

Whole Foods CEO Attacked When Exercising 1st Amendment Rights

.

Check out the discussion Greta has about the Whole Foods boycotts.

As reported earlier this week the CEO of Whole Foods wrote an op-ed against the Obamacare plan providing his own solution to the admitted health care problem. Subsequently people have been organizing a boycott against Whole Foods.

Greta featured a woman who started a group on Facebook called I SUPPORT MR. JOHN MACKEY and WHOLE FOODS, INC. on the program to combat the ignorance of the protest organizer who was also a guest. Click below for the clip of the show.

Food Fight

The interaction between the man and Greta is wonderful! The organizer (who is supposedly a lawyer) calls Mr. Mackey a bad person and claims public option is the only solution. Greta counters with astonishment and confusion as to how he can claim to have the only right opinion and judges someone because they used thier first amendment rights. Its great!!

What can you do? Join the group on Facebook (if you have it) and make sure to let Whole Foods know how you feel by sending your local store an email.

You can also show your support by adding a comment to Mr. Mackey's blog post about he subject.

The Misrepresented 47 Million Americans!!

.

At this point we have heard this mystical number of 47 Million Uninsured American's that we need to show compassion too. Well if you have been paying attention you would have also heard that this number is grossly misrepresentative of the acutal figure.

Here we have June O'Neill, former CBO director of the Congressional Budget Office, who recently released a study with the compositions of this group. Some of her findings:
  • (1/4), One quarter of those counted as uninsured - 12 million- are eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP but have NOT enrolled.
  • 43 percent of the uninsured have incomes higher than 250 percent of the poverty level ($55,125 for a family of four).
--And slightly more than a third have incomes in excess of $66,000.
  • Most of the uninsured are young and in good health:
-- the CBO reports roughly 60 percent are under 35
-- 86 percent report that they are in good or excellent health.
  • Most people without health insurance are uninsured for a relatively short period of time. -- Only about 30 percent of the uninsured remain so for more than a year
-- Approximately 16 percent for two years
-- Less than 2.5 percent for three years or longer.
-- About half are uninsured for six months or less.

Obamanations Ties to JPMorgan/Chase
  • J.P Morgan/Chase has recieved a government bailout, aka ties to Obama administration
  • J.P Morgan/Chase has given more than 5 million dollars to ACORN affiliate, ACORN Housing since 2001.(Guess I'm going to have to find a new bank...anyone know of a non-government corrupt one???)
"Our dealings with ACORN have been entirely appropriate."- JPMorgan Spokes woman, Jennifer R Zuccarelli
Guest: Peter Flaherty, National Legal and Policy Center

Question: Why would JPMorgan/Chase be interested in giving 5 million in cash to an org like ACORN?
  • "This whole thing started in the '70 when ACORN, gut rolling, started targeting the banks because as Jesse Jackson quote Jessie James at an ACORN conference, "That's where the money is." They figured out that if you could picket a bank directors home in a leaky suburb, you could get them to say, who are these people, get them off my back. So pretty soon all the banks, JPMorgan, Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America started paying tribute to ACORN. Including direct cash donations, included investment in ACORN housing Inc and most importantly it included bagging opposition to something called the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977. Which led to the severe loosening of lending standards, which led to the sub prime melt down which led to the general morgage crisis."- Peter Flaherty
  • "Its been tradition, its the mentality. JPMorgan/Chase got 25 billion in TARP money. At the same time over 1,000 employees of the company got a bonus of a million or more the year before."- Peter Flaherty
  • JPMorgan's CEO Jamie Dimon has been called "Obama's Favorite Banker" by the very liberal newspaper, THE NEW YORK TIMES
  • Dimon is reportedly still in contact with Rahm Emanuel and Tim Geithner.
  • President Obama on JPMorgan CEO, "...there are a lot of banks that are actually pretty well managed; JP Morgan being a good example. Jamie Dimon, the CEO there...I don't think he shuld be punished for doing a pretty good job managing an enormous portfolio."---on ABC News, Feb 10, 2009
  • "Just because JPMorgan/Chase has a solid balance sheet that doesnt meant that they are absolved from balme in the morgage crisi. They provided important funding to ACORN that contributed to bringing on this whole thing. This bank is very political. " - Peter Flaherty
  • "William Daily the brother of Chicago mayor Richard Daily, has a title of Midwest Director. Now how many Fortune 500 companies have a 'Midwest Director', not one other one. It's political protection, plain and simple." - Peter Flaherty

  • To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

  • To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;
  • To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part
  • ...the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
  • To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square)...
  • To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.

Segment Guests:
Jay Sekulow, American Center for Law and Justice

Tim Lynch, CATO Institute

Host: These are the limited complete regulations that the Constitutions giver the Congress. So how can the government have the power to take over Health Care and uphold the Constitution? Congress would justify using the clasuse stating that they are able to regulate the "interstate commerce"

Jay Sekulow: "As a lawyer whose litigates in courts all over the country, I wanted to point out that if they would read there own legislation they would know what key words are missing from the bill, commerce clause!! It's not even in the bill! It doesn't appear in any of the bills. They don't even pretend to rely on the Constitution. Rather what they are doing is a policy of social engineering under the guise of legislation and they will come up with theories of Constitutional analysis, but at the end of the day your absolutely right. To say that the Government is going to take over Health Care is incorrect as a matter of law, and un-Constitutional in our view of strict Constitutional law."

Tim Lynch:"The key point I think for your audience is that the Constitution is incapable of enforcing itself. If member of Congress choose to ignore the Constitution, then it falls upon the people to exert pressure on Congress. Someone once said, Its only when Congress feels the heat that they see the light. If people want to make their voices heard they need to exhert that pressure on Congress. But if the people become apathetic about the Constitution and freedom then the rule of law and their liberties will erode and there has already been too much of that already."

Jay Sekulow: "The tenth amendment of the United States says, Look we are not giving everything to the Federal Government. The States have authority here and here is the problem..At the end of the day, Congress isn't even thinking about where are they are getting the authority to do this."
  • Tenth Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Semi-Chick Chat: Aug 18th

Sorry for the lack of posts today!! I have been out all day and just now got a moment to sit down at the computer to check emails and am way to tired to do anything significant on the posting front.

Tomorrow I'll kick it into high gear and get some key articles, cartoons and 'pithy' comments going. For now, I'm off to sleep so I can be alert for my phone interview with the RNC tomorrow! Yay unpaid internships! hehe

Chick Chat: The Party of Control

be warned: what you find below are generalizations.

.........................................................................................................................................

Here is how I see it. The democrat party claims to be the accepting party. The party whose base comes from believing that the government is there to solve peoples problems. They believe in high taxes for the wealthy so that funds can be distributing away to those that need the help.

That is all fine and dandy but look at this article describing how pro-obamacare groups/companies are outspending the anti-obamacare crowd. In the 2008 election the Obama/Biden campaign spent more than McCain/Palin campaign. If you look at liberal vs conservative organizations it seems that the liberals are always the ones with more funds for advertising and grassroots campaigns etc.

Why is that? Why is it that the group of the working class seems to have more money for advertisements? Why is it that the group that claims to be filled with people "just like you" is the group that spends more money trying to tell you that?

Well it seems to me that the distribution of political beliefs is indicative of where you are in the social system. Yes, we have a social system! It is impossible to not see that there are different levels of economic success in this, or any country.

The super wealthy can afford to be liberals because it won't affect their bottom line much in the end. The upper-middle, middle and lower-middle class seem to be more realistic and understand that if taxes go up their bottom line will be hurting. While the lower income crowd don't really seem to have a bottom line, they support whoever will support them.

I would probably say that the super wealthy and lower have grown tremendously in the past couple decades. Which to me explains why our country has become increasingly more liberal, our middle class has shrunk. The super wealthy have increased in size while the bottom has dropped on many American families creating a larger lower income community. So while many year ago this country was firmly embracing its strong middle class, over the years that number has shifted giving America a terrible headache.

A while back I listened to this video on youtube made by a black conservative republican and he made some excellent points that really opened up my eyes to the way the democratic party interacts with the lower income communities. Take a moment...

Hopefully you took a moment to watch that video before continuing to read. You see if I were in a bad financial situation I would understand the need of government help. If I didn't know any better I would think, damn look at all these wealthy Republicans! Sitting on their pedestals thinking their better than me because they have money. Give me some of that money to help me out of this situation!!!

But what I'm trying to say is, if all the wealthy s.o.b's of this country are Republican's then why aren't we outdoing our Liberal counterparts in advertisements? Why don't we see conservative grassroots campaigns paying people to go protest on their behalf? Why don't we see more GOP party leaders coming from the Hampton's and Beverly Hills?? Why don't we see the super wealthy Hollywood speaking out?

The answer is simple and I'm going to put it simply. Democrats are wealthy ALSO! Lets take one group as an example. Think of the celebrities. Do they have money? Yes. Are they mostly liberal? Yes. Can they afford to be liberal? Yes.

So what's the problem here. The problem is that democrats think government can make everything better, they think that by redistributing wealth they can fix all the countries woes. But what they don't realize (well some of them do and keep quite about it) is that by redistributing the goods, by helping out the lower income group, you disassemble the middle class. If the wealthy democrats can keep the lower income base large, strong and reliant then they have a large, strong and reliant electoral base to keep them in power.

Listen up, It isn't about helping the little guy whose fallen in hard times. Its about keeping people under their control so that they can stay in the position of power.

So when I see people claiming that the Republican's are the elite class I just want to knock some sense into them because that is an out-"left" lie. Yes, we have wealthy elite on our side, but so does the Democrat party. Maybe at some point in history the Republicans were the only wealthy politicians and supporters out there, but that is no longer the case. I would be more likely to believe that that balance has shifted more than the liberals are willing to admit.

We're Making a Difference!?!? UPDATE

.

Seems like the "public option off the table" is no longer on the table.

Some Democrats Push for Keeping Public Insurance Option
"The White House on Monday sought to allay concerns by emphasizing that President Obama still supported a so-called public option and had not decided whether to drop that concept to make legislation more palatable to moderate Democrats. The president will avoid committing to either path until at least next month, aides said, in hopes of keeping the issue from overtaking the entire health care debate."

Apparently our government still thinks that we work for them....so we have to keep fighting to have our voices heard. Make sure to keep sending emails, writing letters and calling your Congressmen and women.
